Faxanadu added to Virtual Console

It may officially be a holiday (President’s Day), but the Nintendo Download definitely didn’t take the day off.

To celebrate they’ve added a new NES platformer, Faxanadu, to the Virtual Console. It’s joined by a pair of new WiiWare titles: Jewel Keepers: Easter Island, a puzzler; and Cozy Fire, a literal, virtual fire. A demo for the excellent Rage of the Gladiator (a fantasy fighter styled after Punch-Out!!) is also available this week.

Hit the jump for more details on all of these titles and the three new DSiWare games as well.

The WiiWare service opens the door for a fireplace to fill the room with a magical and cozy atmosphere. Select from a variety of logs and use the Wii Remote controller to stack them up. Next, light the virtual match and your home will soon be snug and glowing. Choose from six available fireplaces: fire alone, campfire, rustic, classic, elegant and Zen. Poke and tend the fire to keep it going. Add more logs to keep the fire burning, just like a real fire. Want to just sit back and relax?
