UPDATE: Nintendo has delayed the release of Pokemon Bank due to the eShop’s continued connectivity problems.

ORIGINAL STORY: Nintendo’s online marketplace is currently experiencing technical difficulties due to all of the people who found Wii Us and 3DSs under the tree yesterday. But that hasn’t stopped The Big N from updating their eShops.

Tuesday, December 31 will close out the “Year of Luigi” in style as Nintendo plans to add Dr. Luigi to the Wii U eShop before the calendar turns. But if you’re looking for something to download today, might I suggest two Virtual Console release: Super Punch-Out!! (Wii U) and Mario Tennis (3DS).

And if you’re a big Pokemon player, you might want to keep an eye out for Pokemon Bank, which will be added to the 3DS eShop tomorrow, December 27. The app allows Pokemon X/Y players to store/manage their captured Pokemon online. A $4.99 annual subscription cost will accompany the Bank, but Nintendo is offering a free trial until January 31.

You can find more details on all of these games and the rest of today’s eShop offerings after the break.

Wii U eShop

Super Punch-Out!! – Featuring the tight game play and humor the series is known for, this sequel to the NES classic sees Little Mac return to the ring with the World Video Boxing Association belt once again at stake. Slug your way through the grueling, sweat-pounding matches against a cast of characters with unique patterns.

CastleStorm – The clouds bring rumors of war…It’s Knights vs. Vikings in CastleStorm, where medieval warfare meets 2D physics-based destruction! Controlling the battle in real time, players will harness the power of medieval artillery, manage a fearsome ground attack, and cast powerful spells! CastleStorm features a story-driven solo campaign, a custom castle editor, online multiplayer, co-op modes, and more. Building castles and knocking them down has never been so much fun!

Dr. Luigi – There’s a new doctor in the house! Dr. Mar – or, uh, Dr. Luigi is a new twist on the classic virus-popping puzzle game. Use L-shaped pills in a new game mode and compete with players locally or online. (Available on December 31)

3DS eShop

Mario Tennis – Mario Tennis offers three fun-packed modes of tennis play! Practice your swings and shots in Exhibition Mode; go on the Mario Tour, which offers three different save slots to start your very own tennis adventures; or take a break from the workout, and try your luck on some Mario mini-games.

Cubit: The Hardcore Platformer Robot – With only one button to jump, you must help Cubit to go from platform to platform, while you avoid obstacles and enemies through the different scenes of the game. Perhaps you think this makes this game not difficult, right? Well, you are right; this game is not difficult… this game is Hardcore!

Edge – In Edge, the award winning retro inspired platformer, players take direct control of the cube and roll their way around the game’s dozens of levels. Search for all the prisms, find the shortcuts to improve your times.

Bird Mania Christmas 3D – Christmas time is almost here and the skies are crowded with Santa’s elves delivering presents across the globe. Mojo the bird is still mid-flight in his pursuit of sunny Africa so with a little Christmas spirit and Santa’s hat it’s time to turn up the turbo and fly full blast to Africa!

Pokémon Bank – Pokémon Bank is an application and service for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that allows you to deposit, store and manage your Pokémon in private Boxes on the Internet. (Available on December 27)
