4A Games opens Malta office to continue work on Metro series

metrolastlight-logo4A Games has been headquartered in Kiev, Ukraine since the company was founded in 2005. Today, the developer announced plans to open a second office in Malta, possibly due to Ukraine’s growing conflict with Russia over Crimea.

The Kiev branch of 4A will remain open, but Creative Director Andrew Prokhorov, Chief Technical Officer Oles Shishkovstov, and other members of the development team will move to Malta. The two offices will work together on 4A’s future projects including Metro Redux, a next-generation remake of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, and several unannounced projects. In a statement posted on their official website, 4A revealed that multiple Metro titles are in development, so we might also be hearing about Metro 3 before too long.

“This marks the start of a new chapter for 4A Games,” said Prokhorov. “We are proud of our achievements as a young studio, and humbled by the response to our output so far. The team is looking forward to this new adventure.”
