Capcom will release a remake of Resident Evil 0 in early 2016

After selling more than one million copies of the Resident Evil remake earlier this year, Capcom is dipping a little deeper into the franchise’s back catalog for their next Resident Evil re-release.

Resident Evil 0 was originally released for the GameCube in 2002 and it has only been re-released once (for the Wii in 2009), which makes it rather unique among other entries in the franchise. That will all change early next year as Capcom plans to release a remastered version of Resident Evil 0 for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The remake will be in good hands as Several members of the original Resident Evil 0 development team, including Director Koji Oda, will be working to bring it to current-generation and previous-generation consoles.

For now, that’s all we know, though Capcom has promised to reveal more information about the Resident Evil 0 remake “in the coming weeks.”
