Nintendo Download: Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Edition, Mega Man Zero 2, more

The Puzzle & Dragons series, a ridiculously popular match-3/RPG hybrid makes the leap from mobile devices to the 3DS this week as Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition. Available separately in Japan, American gamers will be able to pick up both games in a single package. Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition will be available to download through the 3DS eShop beginning tomorrow.

Also this week as part of the Nintendo Download are a pair of 2D sequels. Mega Man Zero 2 originally debuted on the Game Boy Advance in 2003 and is now available to download through the Wii U’s Virtual Console. Meanwhile, Swords & Soldiers II is a sequel to the popular 2D strategy game, promising an even bigger campaign and “endless replayability.”

Mega Man Zero 2 – Mega May continues with this Game Boy Advance classic! Zero must rejoin Ciel and the other Resistance fighters to stand a chance against Neo Arcadia. But when a commander decides that unsealing a dark, evil entity is the only option left, Zero will have to equip powerful abilities and weapons to turn the tides of war.

Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force – In this Super NES shoot-’em-up, guide your special mechanized fighter, the XA-1, against the mysterious alien forces known as AGYMA. You are that ambitious explorer. Exploring through tree, snow, and sand, you will be able to manipulate the world to how you see fit. The world before you is made up of cubes. Using your pickaxe, or even just your hands, you can break blocks and use them to either build structures or craft unique items. Underground lies rare metals, such as gold and diamond. In order to find and mine them, you will have to craft stronger and stronger pickaxes. The only goal in this world is what you make of it.

Vector Assault – Vector Assault is a fast paced dual stick shooter where you have to survive a onslaught of enemy attackers.

Shapes of Gray – Shapes of Gray is a stripped-down action-arcade game about rapidly descending through a series of seconds-long levels, each one containing a unique combat-puzzle challenge. Use your enemies’ attacks against each other to get the high score and complete arcade challenges all while jamming out to a totally rad indie-punktronic micro-soundtrack.
