Nintendo Download: SMT Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker, Mega Man & Bass, more
It’s games we’ve seen before and games that look like games we’ve seen before on today’s Nintendo Download.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is a 3DS remake of the handheld RPG, which was originally released for the DS in 2012. The remake will include a brand new scenario, “Triangulum Arc,” as well as enhanced graphics and new downloadable content.
Also available this week is Mega Man & Bass, the first offering from Capcom as part of their Mega May promotion. Originally released only in Japan for the Super NES, Mega Man & Bass is the ninth entry in the original series. It came to America for the first time in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance, and now that version is available to download through the Wii U eShop.
Finally this week, High Strangeness is available on the Wii U eShop. High Strangeness was the first game project to ever reach its funding goal on Kickstarter and is also billed as the world’s first “12-bit” title. The action RPG is “a deftly blended hybrid of 8 and 16-bit games,” that also includes a talking cat.
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break.

High Strangeness – High Strangeness is the first of its kind – a deftly blended hybrid of 8- and 16-bit games. Drawing inspiration from some of the timeless RPG and adventure classics that hailed from both generations, players take on the role of Boyd, who along with his trusty (yet sarcastic) feline friend, traverses between two worlds in order to solve a multi-layered mystery. The game’s core ability is to switch between 8- and 16-bit worlds to solve puzzles and explore the universe.
Mega Man & Bass – Choose either Mega Man or Bass to battle against the latest menace in town. Mega Man can power-charge his cannon, while Bass can rapid-fire in multiple directions. Each with his own unique abilities, canine companions and motivations to fight, Mega Man and Bass set out to stop King and his robot army.
Metal Marines – As the Commander of the allied Colonies, you must defeat the imperial forces in a series of battles. In this Super NES real-time strategy game, lead the Metal Marines on intense raids against Zorgeuf and his empire as you build strong defenses, launch devastating missile strikes and ultimately decide the fate of the nations.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker – You’re stuck in a world that has been invaded and is on the brink of non-existence. At the same time, you and your friends have gained the power to fight against fate. The countdown begins: Will you be able to save the future of mankind?
Johnny Dynamite – The diabolical Doctor Osmium, tired of being known as the world’s second most evil genius, has hatched a devious plan to seek revenge on all who mock him! He has rigged famous world landmarks with explosives and left his loyal mutations to guard them! Dodge or destroy Osmium’s abominations, zip through portals and navigate past spikes, mines and laser gates.
Bloo Kid 2 – Bloo Kid 2 is a classic 2D retro-style platformer experience with lovely designed pixel-graphics and a full chiptune soundtrack.
