Zombi, Volume, The Bridge, Resident Evil Revelations 2 Vita, more added to PS Store

zombiu-header

Zombies are overtaking the PlayStation Store! It’s unlikely this is a stealth tie-in with the premiere of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, but three new Zed-themed games are now available through the online storefront:

  • Zombi was one of the Wii U’s most-acclaimed launch titles in 2012 (where it was known as ZombiU) and its now available on the PS4 thanks to Ubisoft. Inventory management with the Wii U GamePad is obviously a thing of the past, but Ubisoft still won’t let players pause the action when they’re rummaging around in their ruck sacks.
  • Curses N Chaos is also available for the PS4 (and the Vita as a Cross-Buy title), but its quite a different type of zombie game. As a side-scrolling arena fighter, players are forced to battle it out with all manner of ghouls (including the walking undead) as an evil Wizard King cackles over his evilness.
  • Finally, Resident Evil Revelations 2 makes the jump to the Vita by giving up its episodic release schedule. The game’s structure still includes distinct chapters, but players will have to pay for the whole thing up front if they want to partake in the further adventures of Claire Redfield.

Also available this week is Volume (PS4), Mike Bithell’s stealthy follow-up to Thomas Was Alone; The Bridge (PS4/PS3/Vita Cross-Buy), a side-scrolling puzzle platformer inspired by M.C. Escher; and Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & The Monster Seal, a first-person turn-based RPG for the Vita. And if you’re into episodic gaming, Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands: Escape Plan Bravo brings the series closer to its conclusion on the PS3 and PS4.

More information on all of these games (and a few others) can be found after the break. And a complete list of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog.

PS4 + PS3 + PS Vita Cross-Buy Games

The Bridge ($9.99)
The Bridge is a 2D logic puzzle game that forces the player to reevaluate their preconceptions of physics and perspective. It is Isaac Newton meets M.C. Escher. Manipulate gravity to redefine the ceiling as the floor while venturing through impossible architectures.

PS4 + PS Vita Cross-Buy Games

Curses N Chaos ($9.99)
In this 2D Arena-Brawler world, there is only one law: fight or die! The Wizard King has cursed Lea and Leo, the fiercest fighters in the land! Now living under the shadow of death, they’re hounded by ghouls and hunted by the grim reaper itself!

PS4 Games

Zombi ($19.99)
Casting players as (a series of) survivors fighting to stay alive in a zombie-infested London, Zombi puts an emphasis on self-preservation, pushing players to distract or avoid zombies rather than confronting them directly.

Volume ($19.99)
An arsenal of gadgets await discovery in a quest to rob from the rich and give to the unheard. Sneaking, distracting, avoiding. Locksley is never seen, and seldom heard. As he grows in popularity and notoriety, so will his inventory.

Tales From the Borderlands: Escape Plan Bravo ($4.99)
In this penultimate episode of the season, captured by Vallory and her goons, Rhys and Fiona are forced to continue the search for the Vault beacon – at gunpoint. The beacon is on the Hyperion moon base – Helios – while our heroes are on Pandora… so there’s the pesky cold void of death known as ‘space’ to overcome. Even with assistance from a familiar face, and with a worryingly helpful Handsome Jack hitching a ride in Rhys’ head, getting on board the ominous ‘H’ is going to take every drop of guile, and quite possibly all the spunk you’ve got.

Giana Sisters: Dream Runners ($9.99)
Run and jump, dash and smash, daze and teleport, morph and cannon… oh you get the idea: mess with your opponents! The game pits up to four players (or AI opponents) against each other in local and online competition. (Available 8/19)

Adventures of Pip ($14.99)
Adventures of Pip revitalizes the classic side-scrolling action platform genre. Pip — the ultimate digital underdog — is a lowly single pixel in a 32-bit world who proves that you can’t judge a hero by the fidelity of his shaders.

Pure Hold ‘Em ($19.99)
Starting at the Jokers table on the floor of the vibrant casino work your way up to the esteemed Aces and Masters tables in the VIP penthouse. Buy your way into a game with earned credits, play your blinds, or go all in — whatever it takes to steal the pot and win the game.

Bomb Jack ($7.99)
Bomb Jack is an action game that was released by Tehkan (Koei Tecmo Games) in 1984. Players control Jack, a superhero who can leap and glide to collect all the bombs in the game’s stages.

PS3 Games

PS Vita Games

Resident Evil Revelations 2 ($29.99)
Resident Evil Revelations 2 for PS Vita gives you full access to all story episodes and a ton of DLC content all at an incredible value that includes two extra episodes, alongside bonus costumes.

Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & The Monster Seal ($39.99)
The kingdom of Romulea is overrun by monsters! You are Fried, an adventurer tasked by the Royal Library to stop these monsters. Traveling through dungeons alone is no fun, so make sure to recruit from the 16 different heroines willing to join you on your quest!

The Quiet Collection ($4.99)
The Quiet Collection — classic, lighthearted adventure game fun. Explore, interact with your environment, and solve puzzles in this bundle of four old-school adventure games: Quiet, Please!, Quiet Christmas, Vacation Vexation, and Candy, Please!
