The Nintendo eShop is about to get a meaty update as the brutally hard (and monumentally weird) platformer Super Meat Boy is now available to download for the Wii U.

Also available for the Wii U this week is The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, a game that was originally released for the DS in 2007. Borrowing Wind Waker’s cel-shaded visual style, Phantom Hourglass also brought touchscreen puzzles to the Zelda franchise for the first time.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition is getting a “super” update later this week (on May 17), though more specifically, it’s the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack. The update will include new Character Skins for Mario and all his friends, a Super Mario-themed pre-made world, and a set of Super Mario-themed music and item textures.

Finally this week, the budding artist in all of us can pick up Disney Art Academy for the 3DS to learn how to draw all the characters from Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and dozens of other Disney characters.

More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break.

Super Meat Boy – Super Meat Boy is a tough-as-nails platformer set in haunted hospitals, salt factories and even hell itself in a quest to save your girlfriend from an evil fetus in a jar. And if 300+ single-player levels weren’t enough, the game also throws in epic boss fights, tons of unlockable secrets, warp zones and hidden characters from other popular indie games.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass – Many months after the events of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Link must return to the open seas and solve the mystery of the Ghost Ship. Explore neighboring islands for useful items, such as the Phantom Hourglass, and solve innovative puzzles by using intuitive touch-screen controls.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition – Super Mario Mash-Up Pack – After downloading this free update, players who own the Minecraft: Wii U Edition digital game, which launched last December, will have immediate access to new skins, a Super Mario-themed pre-made world and a set of Super Mario-themed music and item textures. All this new content is inspired by games in the iconic Super Mario series, such as Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. (Available May 17)

Tachyon Project – Tachyon Project is an action packed dual-stick shooter driven by a story. Through the story mode you’ll progressively unlock all the weapons, secondary weapons and perks available to configure your ship. You’ll need them to face the increasingly hard enemies you’ll find with over 30 different types (including four bosses).

Queen’s Garden – 100 Challenging match-3 levels! 60 garden decorations to choose from! Play Relaxed, Timed, and Restricted modes!

Color Symphony 2 – Color Symphony 2 is a puzzle action platformer that utilizes the ambiguity of color. Try to eliminate obstacles or find new paths by using color! This simple rule allows you to solve various problems.

8-Bit Hero – Team up with four friends to hack and slash your way through eight worlds in this retro arcade adventure. Power up by exploring a secret-filled 8-bit world. Customize attacks by equipping special weapons and tools hidden throughout the journey. Extend hit points by collecting hidden pixel pieces and power up by spending loot on equipment upgrades.
