Xbox Store Today: Superhot, The Park, Battleborn

Team Superhot is turning up the heat on the Xbox Games Store this week with Superhot, their unique puzzle-shooter hybrid. Superhot’s puzzle-shooter mechanics are hidden behind minimalist graphics and short levels, but players who are willing to dig deep into the game’s oddball nature will find a very interesting new way to play a first person shooter… “Time Moves Only When You Move.”

Microsoft is promoting independent games like Superhot all this month during their frst-ever ID@Xbox Game Fest. In addition to discounts on a number of ID@Xbox titles, Xbox One owners will be able to pick up new games like this week’s other ID@Xbox Game Fest title, The Park. In The Park, players will take control of a parent searching for their lost child in a dilapidated amusement park… you know what, I’m just going to stop right there before I summon a murderous clown or something.

Finally this week, big budget gaming gets its due with the release of Battleborn, Gearbox’s brand new “Hero Shooter.” Starring a diverse collection of “Badasses,” players will romp through Battleborn’s single-player and multiplayer modes to take on a mysterious evil for control of the universe’s very last star.

More information about all three of these games can be found after the break.

Xbox One Games

Superhot ($24.99)
Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, Superhot is the FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets. With its unique, stylized graphics Superhot finally adds something new and disruptive to the FPS genre. Superhot’s polished, minimalist visual language helps you concentrate on the most important – on the fluidity of gameplay and cinematic beauty of the fight.

The Park ($12.99)
Set in a creepy amusement park hiding a dark and sinister secret, The Park is a one-to-two-hour-long first-person psychological horror experience focusing on intense storytelling and exploration instead of combat and action. A day at the park… a lost teddy bear… a missing child. As the sun sets over Atlantic Island Park, you must explore its dilapidated rides in search of your son, Callum.

Battleborn ($59.99)
A tremendous band of badass heroes fight to protect the universe’s very last star from a mysterious evil in this next-gen shooter by the creators of Borderlands. Slash and parry, run and gun, cast and dash, or simply obliterate foes while building and growing your personal team of heroes.
