South Park: The Fractured But Whole will skewer superhero movies on December 6

After taking fantasy films down a peg in South Park: The Stick of Park, the South Park gang will next turn their prodigious parody powers towards the superhero genre in South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Unveiled this afternoon at Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference, South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be released on December 6 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

With crime on the rise in South Park, the streets have never been more dangerous. As the sun sets on the quiet Colorado town, havoc and chaos unleash a reign of terror and the seedy underbelly of the city comes alive. The town needs new heroes to rise! Eric Cartman seizes the opportunity to save the town and create the best superhero franchise ever, his own Coon & Friends with himself as the leader, The Coon. Continuing in their role as the New Kid, players will become a member of Coon & Friends and fight for fame and their place beside the other kids.

Players will get to live out all their superhero fantasies in The Fractured But Whole, ultimately discovering their origin, assembling multiple costumes, and creating a unique powerset from numerous superhero classes.

Ubisoft will release South Park: The Fractured But Whole in a game-only Standard Edition this Fall, as well as three other special editions. The digital-only Gold Edition includes the game, the Season Pass, a set of in-game costumes and a bonus Perk, and access to Towelie, an in-game assistant. Meanwhile, the retail-only Gold Steelbook Edition will include everything from the Gold Edition packaged in a Steelbook case with a set of lithographic prints. Finally, the Collector’s Edition takes everything in the Gold Steelbook Edition and adds a 6” figurine of “The Coon” to the box.

Everyone who pre-orders South Park: The Fractured But Whole will also receive a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone helped introduce an extended gameplay demo of The Fractured But Whole during Ubisoft’s Press Conference, and you can find the full (NSFW) video after the break.
