Several founding members of Criterion, including Creative Director Alex Ward, split away from the Burnout developer in 2014 to form Three Fields Entertainment. Since then, the small company released their debut game, Dangerous Golf, and pledged to continue working on new titles “in a healthy and sustainable way.”

That brings us to yesterday, which is when Ward revealed the team is returning to their racing roots using the most low-key announcement I’ve ever seen:

Will this new game look to Burnout for inspiration? It’s too early to know for sure, but if the indoor destruction found in Dangerous Golf is any indication, I’m going to say “probably.”
