Xbox Store Today: Dead Rising 4, Abzu, Her Majesty’s SPIFFING, more

Frank is back, baby! Capcom and Microsoft have teamed up to release Dead Rising 4 this holiday season, and its now available to download through the Xbox Games Store for the Xbox One. It’s Christmastime at the Willamette Mall and Frank is up to his eyeballs in zombies once again. Thankfully, he’s got a ton of new weapons (including a jolly EXO Suit) to deliver coal to the naughty undead hordes.

This week’s other big Xbox One release, Abzu, is a tad more serene than Dead Rising 4. The underwater exploration game was designed by Matt Nava, the Art Director on Journey and Flower, and it gives players the chance to visit a “vibrant ocean world full of mystery and bursting with color and life.”

Finally this week, Her Majesty’s SPIFFING asks players to go adventuring in outer space, though with a distinctly British flair. Players who gone SPIFFING, the Special Planetary Investigative Force For Inhabiting New Galaxies, will boldly go where no man has gone before (except for all those Brits who starred in Star Wars and Star Trek).

More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break.

Dead Rising 4 ($59.99)
Dead Rising 4 marks the return of photojournalist Frank West in an all-new chapter of one of the most popular zombie game franchises of all time. All of the classic hallmarks of the ground breaking series return, including a huge array of weapons and vehicles players can combine to combat the horde ranging from the practical – to the practically insane. Players will also enjoy ambitious new features including new zombie classes, EXO Suits, and four-player co-op multiplayer. With intense action and an unmatched level of weapon and character customization, Dead Rising 4 delivers a heart-pounding experience as players explore, scavenge and fight to survive in an epic open world sandbox.

Abzu ($19.99)
From the artistic mind behind Journey and Flower, Abzu is a beautiful underwater adventure that evokes the dream of diving. Immerse yourself in a vibrant ocean world full of mystery and bursting with color and life. Perform fluid acrobatics as the Diver, using graceful swimming controls. Linger in epic seascapes and explore aquatic ecosystems modeled with unprecedented detail. Descend into the heart of the ocean where ancient secrets lie forgotten. But beware, dangers lurk in the depths. “Abzu” is from the oldest mythologies; Ab, meaning water, and Zu, meaning to know. Abzu is the ocean of wisdom.

Her Majesty’s SPIFFING ($18.49)
In the wake of political developments during the summer of 2016 and the events that followed, Britain found itself increasingly isolated from global society. Her Majesty concluded that, given the complications Britain was facing returning to a position of power on earth, perhaps it was time to focus her attention elsewhere… Establishing S.P.I.F.F.I.N.G. (Special Planetary Investigative Force For Inhabiting New Galaxies) Her Majesty has turned to the stars in a bid to establish a new, Galactic British Empire!

Wand Wars ($11.99)
Wand Wars is a fast-paced, top-down, magical sports game. Players ride brooms over ancient arenas, cast arcane spells and turn opponents into adorable chickens. Try to control a deadly magical sphere that bounces around the arena, increasing in speed and size over time. The game’s epic stages, colorful characters and quirky powerups generate competitive gameplay that is incredibly fun to participate in and spectate. Hone your skills and uncover the magical universe of Wand Wars in story mode or battle your way through the unlimited chaos of the Endless Trials.

Energy Cycle ($2.99)
Energy Cycle is a new puzzle game from the developers of Energy Balance. When you click each cell on the game field – it changes color, and the colors of adjacent cells horizontally and vertically. Your task to bring all the cells to the same color. Sounds pretty easy, but try to do it!
