Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segment is being developed as a standalone series

Conan O’Brien has produced some of the best television of the last few years when he’s taken his eponymous TBS talk show on the road to visit far-flung locales like Cuba, Comic-Con, and Armenia. But the host can also score big laughs by playing video games (badly) in a small non-descript room as part of his regular Clueless Gamer segment. The segment works so well that Team Coco and TBS have decided to get together and produce a standalone series based on it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the Clueless Gamer spinoff will start next month, though O’Brien won’t be hosting it:

“We’re going into production next month on a new series, Clueless Gamer, based on the viral video [Conan O’Brien has] done where he essentially makes fun of video games, gets celebrities to play and makes commentary on them,” TBS president Kevin Reilly told THR during an interview about the future of the late-night talk show. “We’ve gotten to the point where video game companies are sending us their new product for us to play and make fun of because it’s been such a huge success. We’re going to go into production on a series of that.”

The most recent Clueless Gamer segment featured Conan sitting down with Terry Crews to play Battlefield 1. But the comedian has also recently fumbled his way through Overwatch, Mortal Kombat X, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Doom, and many others.
