Xbox Store Today: Nevermind, Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution

Welcome to the first Xbox Games Store update of 2017. Microsoft is easing their way into the new year with two new releases… an “adventure thriller” from Flying Mollusk and a furry turned-based strategy game from High Tale Studios.

In Nevermind, players will “explore strange worlds and solve puzzles” as they try to solve the mystery lurking within the inner psyche of psychological trauma survivors. Just like in The Cell, this task involves entering the minds of comatose patients and helping them cope. Thankfully, players won’t have to deal with a nearly-naked Vincent D’Onofrio. Nevermind is now available to download for the Xbox One.

Also launching for the Xbox One today is Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution, a turned-based strategy game where players must overthrow King Louis the Umpteenth with a squirrel army. Oh, and it’s also somehow a retelling of the French Revolution.

More information on both Nevermind and Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution can be found after the break.

Xbox One Games

Nevermind ($19.99)
Nevermind is an adventure thriller game in which you must explore strange worlds and solve puzzles to unlock the mystery that lurks within the inner psyche of psychological trauma survivors. Within the game, you are a Neuroprober – a unique physician who, through the use of cutting-edge technology, is able to venture into the minds of your clients for whom traditional treatment methods have proven ineffective. Traumatic experiences, especially those left untreated, take their toll in countless ways, often triggering other serious problems as each Client’s subconscious mind desperately tries to cope.

Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution ($9.99)
The squirrels of the forest grew poorer and more starved each day that passed thanks to the tyrant King Louis the Umpteenth. It is up to you to raise an army to overthrow the king and set the world right again. Embark on an nutty journey filled with a strange cast of characters through a historically inaccurate retelling of the French Revolution with squirrels. If you are a fan of turn-based strategy games and want something different from the status quo, this game is for you. The deceptively simple-to-learn rules of the game lead to a varied set of strategies that you can employ to defeat your enemy and march on.
