The Games of March 2015

gamesofmarch-header

March is a crazy month. Some of us are excited about the new releases, while others are not very impressed at all. How do you feel about March? Read on to see if you agree with the Warp Zoned crew as they talk about what they want to play this month!

Long-time readers of this site will know that I have April 14 circled on my calendar with little hearts drawn all around it. But the month of March looks to provide a nice transitional period between the barren landscape of January and February and the all-important date when I get to play a new Mortal Kombat game.

As a fan of MadWorld, White Night and its stark black-and-white graphical style definitely intrigues. A noir-like mystery set in a haunted mansion in the 1930s… how can that concept possibly miss? Speaking of unique settings, Bloodborne‘s gothic village looks appropriately creepy and amazing… even though I still haven’t played From Software’s other big hit, Dark Souls. Finally, Axiom Verge looks great because it looks like the NES sequel to Metroid we never got.

There are a few games I am super pumped about this month. First up is Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. I had such an incredible time with the first game, and I’m eagerly awaiting this second one! Ori and the Blind Forest looks gorgeous. You know I’m a total sucker for all things Final Fantasy, so I’m really looking forward to Final Fantasy Type-0. And my friends at Final Form have been working hard on Jamestown Plus, which I’m looking forward to playing in my living room.

However, if Borderlands: The Handsome Collection included the first game, I might buy it. But I think this is one Borderlands game I’m going to skip.

I’m kind of stretching here, but the only title I have any real interest in is Mario Party 10. It looks like it’ll be a great title to play with the family, and after I busted my ass (and a few scalper skulls) to get a Rosalina Amiibo, I’ll be damned if I didn’t have another game to use it with. I may also be interested in Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection. I know the Borderlands titles are fantastic games, but I really haven’t given them a decent amount of playtime. Now, having them on the PS4 may give me a good reason to revisit them…
