I spent weeks upon weeks playing the original Dragon Warrior on the NES, so Dragon Quest Builders is hitting all my nostalgia buttons with its retro monster designs and classic score. I really hope Square Enix manages to slip a little Shakespearean English into the script too.

There are only two games I’m excited about this month, and I’m grateful they’re both coming at the end! The first one is World of Final Fantasy, which is just too adorable. I’m not sure yet if I’m going to play it on Vita or PlayStation 4, though I’m currently leaning towards the latter.

The other game is Titanfall 2, which comes out the same week. I had a blast playing in the Technical Test, and I really just cannot wait to hop back in.

Batman: Arkham VR has my interested piqued, because if anyone is going to make me buy into VR, it will be Batman. There is a PlayStation VR event happening in Glasgow towards the end of October, so I shall mosey along to that and hopefully get a taste.

Is Mafia III going to be any good? I’ve never played the previous games, but this one seems to be riding on some good word of mouth, so I may give that a look later on in the year.

I am also undecided about Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4. I despise timed exclusives. Exclusives I get, because a game is sometimes developed for one specific console, but timed-exclusives are just nasty. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the rebooted Tomb Raider on the PS3. While it could not quite live up to the heights of Uncharted, it was fun, with nice set pieces, and a Scottish accent in the mix. I think I’ll pick it up eventually, when it has come down in price, because it’s essentially a year-old game being released at full price.

I really, really want Friday the 13th to be a good game. But I am a bit concerned about it. We haven’t heard a whole lot about it lately, and we don’t even have a concrete release date. I am perfectly fine with the game being delayed if it makes it better. But the fact that not much has been shared about the game makes me scared. Here’s hoping, though.

The other game I am interested in is Dragon Quest Builders. After having played the demo, I found myself intrigued in what the game has to offer. This one is definitely in my sights. Oh, and Happy Halloween everyone!
