Warpback: What We Played in November 2016

warpbacknovember-header

I don’t think any of us were playing the same games during November! We were all over the map, hitting up our backlogs, playing brand new games, and continuing to play popular games that just won’t quit. Hit the jump to see everything the Warp Zoned staff played last month!

While I never did finish the first Dishonored, I picked up Dishonored 2 and dipped my toe into the stealthy waters surrounding the beachfront community of Karnaca. I’m not very far into the sequel, but it’s making me want to go back to Corvo’s first adventure and see what I missed.

Another stealthy avenger of the night was in my play pile last month as I continued to work my way through Batman: The Telltale Series. I’m probably repeating myself, but I think Telltale is definitely doing something very interesting with Batman’s origin story.

Finally last month, I slipped back in to Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions and earned the “Gatherer” Achievement after collecting one million Geoms. It only took me a few years, but it was so worth it, and I almost wish I could start over and do it again.

I played a ton of games in November! Well, that is to say, I played mostly Pokemon-related games! I’m still going strong in Pokemon Go, and I played the Pokemon Sun and Moon demo, which of course was the lead up to what I’ve been playing for the last few weeks, Pokemon Moon. And, of course, I’m still playing Pokemon Picross, because I hate myself.

Other than that, I’m trying to stay interested in Titanfall 2, which hasn’t really been keeping my attention. And, for some reason, I charged my PSP and Vita, and played some Disgaea, Risk of Rain, and Gravity Rush. Other than that, I played the Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo, which I liked enough to order the game, though I haven’t received it yet. And for Black Friday, Anthony and I picked up Alienation, which has been fun – but it’s no Dead Nation, sadly.

November is a bit of a blur, but I think it’s when I gave up my slow progression in Dark Souls III and jumped into Vault 111 and Fallout 4. It’s more of the same, which is pretty much what I imagined, but that’s sometimes a good thing. Fallout is not a franchise that feels stale yet.

I also played a bit of Star Wars: Battlefront. Funny story, I actually received it last year as a Christmas present, but because I did not have PS Plus at that point, I could only play the Darth Vader load screen. When I finally got PS Plus, I went back to it, but again, only the load screen. It turns out there is some annoying glitch where you have to remove or update a specific file on the HDD, after which I finally got it working. Beautiful, and just in time for Rogue One DLC.

A majority of my month was dedicated to Destiny. Actually, my entire month was dedicated to Destiny. This was a crazy busy month, and what little time I had was spent with the title. I started diving into the nuances of the game, and discovered how deep it can get. I also purchased the Rise of Iron add-on, which will hopefully keep me occupied until the sequel comes out next year.
