Game Critics Awards has announced their Best of E3 2014 nominees
The Best of E3 2014 nominees are in, and Evolve is currently leading the pack with six nominations (Best of Show, Best Original Game, Best Console Game, Best PC Game, Best Action Game, and Best Online Multiplayer). The rest of the Best in Show games all have multiple nominations as well – Alien: Isolation, Batman: Arkham Knight, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, No Man’s Sky, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. After all the attention it’s gotten, I’m surprised Sunset Overdrive isn’t on that list, but it’s on a few others.
Check out the full list of nominees after the jump.

Sunset Overdrive E3 trailer and quick gameplay walkthrough
Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive has the company’s trademark wackiness. In the E3 trailer, the game mocks hyper-realistic shooter franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield, with the main character saving a soldier and telling him, “You, and your crate, are safe now!” After the trailer, there’s a quick gameplay video, which makes the game look like a ridiculous mashup of Dead Rising and InFamous, as seen through a Ratchet & Clank filter (with its trademark weapons included), and a touch of Resistance monsters.
Sunset Overdrive will be released on October 28 for the Xbox One.

MS @ E3 14: Sunset Overdrive gets the apocalyptic party started on October 28
With no Halo and no Gears of War, Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive is being positioned as the big Xbox One exclusive of the Fall. And Insomniac’s Ted Price just stopped by Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference to show the world the latest technicolor trailer for the game. If you like your apocalypses bright and sunny and full of self-referential humor, then Sunset Overdrive might just be for you.
Sunset Overdrive will be released on October 28.

Insomniac continues to get wacky with Sunset Overdrive’s E3 teaser trailer
Despite my tepid response to Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive, this E3 teaser trailer has got me wishing I could sip on some (probably gross) Overcharge while chilling out on one of these awesome couches inside this ridiculous bus. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, just watch the ludicrous trailer above, in which my favorite line uttered is that “rules are meant to be exploded.”
You can expect to see even more Sunset Overdrive at 9:00 AM PST/Noon EST today (that’s in 10 minutes!) during Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference.
