App Store’s 5th Anniversary offers five games for free

This Wednesday marks the five-year anniversary of the iOS App Store, and to celebrate Apple is giving away five of their best games for free for a limited time: BadlandInfinity Blade IISuperbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Tiny Wings, and Where’s My Water? The games are regularly priced at over $20, so grab your iOS device and install them while you can to enjoy the savings.

Five non-gaming apps are also currently available for free including Barefoot World Atlas, Day One (Journal/Diary), How to Cook Everything, Over, and Traktor DJ. More details are available at the iTunes App Store.

Cooking Mama 5 is in development for 3DS

20130707-152428.jpgCooking Mama 5 is set to be revealed this month at Shogakukan’s Ciao Summer Festival, according to a report by Siliconera. In development by Cooking Mama Limited, the game will be the second in the series to land on the 3DS. It is expected to launch in Japan this winter, with a Western release likely to follow.

Expect to learn more at Shogakukan’s Ciao Summer Festival, which takes place on July 28.

Here’s the 12-minute gameplay video of Destiny from E3 2013

In case you missed it in all the chaos that was this year’s E3, Bungie has released the extended gameplay demo of Destiny, their upcoming sci-fi shooter, that was shown at Sony’s Press Conference.

The game is set in the distant future after the collapse of a Golden Age of exploration, with players taking on the role of a Guardian of the last city on Earth. Destiny is planned for a 2014 release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Here’s a new trailer for “Buried,” the latest addition to CoD: Black Ops II’s Zombies Mode

Vengeance, the latest DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, was released yesterday for the Xbox 360, bringing four new multiplayer maps, the Ray Gun Mark II, and “Buried,” a new chapter for Zombies Mode.

If you’re a PS3 or PC user you’ll have to wait to play the adventure, but in the meantime you can check out the new “Buried” trailer Treyarch just released. It’s full of dramatics, cinematics, and there’s some shooting, too. You can also catch a glimpse of the Ray Gun Mark II in all its zombie-bursting glory.
