EA Sports’ Andrew Wilson has announced that Microsoft and EA Sports have entered into a “broad partnership” to bring their sports simulations to the Xbox One. The first phase of this partnership includes the release of Madden NFL 25, FIFA Soccer 14, NBA Live 14, and EA Sports UFC on the Xbox One. All four will launch in the next 12 months.

To build their next-generation titles, Wilson revealed “EA Sports Ignite,” a brand new game engine that will be used for these four titles. Wilson wants gamers to know that the Ignite engine allows EA to bring “True Player Motion, Human Intelligence,” and “Living Worlds” to EA Sports games.

The Xbox One version of FIFA 14 will receive exclusive FIFA Ultimate Team content and a “daily stream of new content” for the other games will be available through Xbox Live.

EA Sports UFC to be developed by Fight Night team

EA Sports has announced that their upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship game, EA Sports UFC, will be developed by the Fight Night team within EA Canada. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but apparently the developers learned about their new project at E3 2012, the same time as the rest of the world.

“When we found out that EA and the UFC would be working together, the team was excited. Most of the team didn’t even know about it until the announcement at E3. We were all watching it together and when Andrew Wilson and Dana White took the stage, everybody starting cheering. It was great,” said Creative Director Brian Hayes.

This quote also confirms that development on EA Sports UFC just started, so it’ll probably be a long time before we step into a virtual octagon again.

EA @ E3 12: EA Sports secures UFC license in “multi-year, multi-product” deal

It looks like THQ’s money troubles have killed the UFC Undisputed franchise. Joined by Dana White, an EA Sports executive just announced a “multi-year, multi-product” deal with Ultimate Fighting Championship during the company’s E3 2012 Press Conference.

No release date was given, and no platforms were announced, but EA Sports UFC (a working title) will surely be available sometime in 2013.
