All Articles: From Dust
Prepare yourself PS3 owners, Sony has graced the PlayStation Store with another massive update that is sure to include something for everyone.
Leading the way this week is a downloadable version of God of War: Origins Collection. The HD remake of Kratos’s PSP adventures is also available in retail stores today.
Today’s PSN Play entry is Renegade Ops, a vehicular combat game from Sega where the vehicle combat doesn’t involve a tournament for psychopaths. I know, right? Instead, players get behind the wheel of “an elite mobile commando unit sent behind enemy lines to defeat Inferno, a madman intent on global domination!”
Also available this week is Eric Chahi’s god game, From Dust; budget racer Ferrari: The Race Experience; a downloadable version of Epic’s Bulletstorm; Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness, a Capcom fighter that never before made it to America; and PSone Classic Pong: The Next Level.
More information on all of this week’s new releases and game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation.Blog.
The 2011 Summer of Arcade rolls on with Ubisoft’s From Dust, a god game from Eric Chahi, the famed creator of Another World (better known as Out of This World in America).
From Dust can be yours for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). More information about the game can be found below.
Developer: Ubisoft Montpellier
Discover a unique Modern God game where nature is the star: From Dust, the latest original concept by Eric Chahi, visionary creator of Another World. Behold the beauty of a primitive world pulsing with life and face the might of nature. Beware the danger of a world that is constantly changing under your command. Control the destiny of a tribe struggling to survive and help it recover its ancestors’ lost powers. Immerse yourself in a world as exotically beautiful as it is dangerous. A universe where Nature reclaims what is Hers; and you are your people’s only chance of survival.
Microsoft has revealed the release schedule and price points for this year’s Summer of Arcade promotion. Beginning on July 20 and ending on August 17, five highly anticipated games will be added to the Xbox Live Arcade for your gaming pleasure. The full release schedule is as follows:
July 20: Bastion (1200 Microsoft Points)
July 27: From Dust (1200 Microsoft Points)
August 3: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (1200 Microsoft Points)
August 10: Fruit Ninja Kinect (800 Microsoft Points)
August 17: Toy Soldiers: Cold War (1200 Microsoft Points)
Like in years past, players who purchase every game during the Summer of Arcade will receive a free bonus. This year, Microsoft plans to reward the completist Summer of Arcade shopper with a free download of Crimson Alliance, a “fast-action RPG game from industry-leading Certain Affinity” that’ll be available through the XBLA on September 7.
Microsoft has announced they’re bringing back the Summer of Arcade for a fourth go around this Summer.
Beginning July 20th, the promotion will last for five weeks and feature five of the biggest Xbox Live Arcade games in development. The full lineup includes:
- Toy Soldiers: Cold War, the sequel to the popular Toy Soldiers, but now with a “G.I. Joe” twist
- Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, a side-scroller that reminds me a little of last year’s Limbo with a UFO
- Fruit Ninja Kinect, the popular iPhone game comes to the Xbox 360 and your whole body becomes a slicing and dicing machine
- Bastion, an action RPG that really impressed us at this year’s PAX East.
- From Dust, a god game from the creator of Out of This World
Microsoft hasn’t nailed down the Summer of Arcade release schedule yet, so nobody knows what order the games will be released in just yet. Hit the jump for more details on all the games and be sure to check out the Summer of Arcade E3 trailer at Xbox.com. (more…)
