Halo 4 is the start of the Reclaimer Trilogy; no beta codes with Halo Anniversary
While there wasn’t a new trailer, the Halo 4 panel at PAX Prime has revealed a bit more about the Master Chief’s next adventure.
Developer 343 Industries is referring to the three-part story that’ll begin with Halo 4 as The Reclaimer Trilogy. According to Creative Director Josh Holmes, the game will look deeper at the Master Chief than ever before: “It’s a little bit about getting closer to that character than we have in past games.” Part of this character study will involve John-117’s relationship with Cortana, his AI companion.
But Franchise Director Frank O’Connor assured those in attendance that discovering more about the Master Chief’s character won’t be the only exploration players experience in Halo 4. He confirmed that the game will feature more glimpses into the Forerunner civilization, including buildings and technology that “[aren’t] completely dead.”
Finally, O’Connor passed along some bad news, confirming that there won’t be any Halo 4 multiplayer beta access codes included with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will answer a lot of questions, but not all
Speaking to Destructoid at this weekend’s PAX Prime, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Creative Director Alex Amancio revealed that the game will do a better job of answering fan’s questions than Brotherhood did.
“People are going to go ‘Oh, okay, I get it!’ or ‘I never thought they were going to show me that!,’ and it really sets you up for what’s the come.”
“We actually found [an article online], I forget where it is on the web, somebody did a ‘Top 10 Things Fans Want to Know About Assassin’s Creed.’ And in that top 10 list, we actually answer seven.”
Amancio also said, “We want to avoid what I like to call the X-Files effect, where you risk crumbling under the weight of your own mythology.” So the team at Ubisoft Montreal is well aware that fans actually want some revelations to come out of a game actually subtitled Revelations.
Let’s hope so. This “Assassin’s Creed III announced!… no wait… it’s just another game starring Ezio” thing is getting old. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will be available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 15.

GameStop gives $50 gift card to Deus Ex: Human Revolution PC purchasers
The Deus Ex: Human Revolution/GameStop kerfuffle is over and the executives at GameStop appear to be really sorry.
After removing an OnLive coupon from every copy of the PC version of the title, GameStop’s customers were resaonably upset. To make this mess right (or make their customers “whole” as Judge Milan would say), GameStop is offering a $50 gift card and a Buy Two, Get One Free coupon on all used games to anyone who bought Deus Ex 3 on the PC. That is way more than making someone “whole” as the original coupon was only good for an OnLive-capable version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
While it’s still not completely clear that what GameStop did was legal (though Deus Ex publisher Square Enix was OK with it), this goes a long way towards making the bad press disappear.
You can read GameStop’s complete apology at Kotaku.

Halo 4’s Warthog pulls into Forza 4’s garage
Dubbed “car porn” by more than one commentator, Forza Motorsport 4‘s Autovista Mode is a Kinect-powered look inside some of the world’s coolest cars. And also some of the coolest cars that aren’t even of this world. That’s right, the new Warthog that the Master Chief will drive in next year’s Halo 4 will be available to ogle in Forza Motorsport 4.
Turn 10 has stressed that you won’t be able to drive the heavy duty vehicle in the game, but if you want a closer look at the Chief’s ride, the trailer above is definitely for you.
