Limbo, Final Fantasy Tactics PSP added to PSN; big sale on Borderlands GOTY bundle
The atmospheric puzzle-platformer Limbo was added to the PlayStation Store yesterday. It’ll be joined by light gun shooter Fast Draw Showdown, the zombie defending sim Dead Block, and a pair of NeoGeo classics: Baseball Stars 2 and The King of Fighters ’95. Both NeoGeo titles can be downloaded on the PSP as well.
Also available this week is Kyuiin, a wild PSone Import where you control a sentient vacuum in a side-scrolling shooter battle against dirt. On the PSP side of things, Square Enix has added Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions to the PlayStation Store.
Finally, if you’re a Borderlands fan, or even if you’re not, you might want to know that all Borderlands content will be 50% off this week. And if you’ve never played Borderlands, the store has an even better deal: The Borderlands: Game of the Year bundle for just $14.99! That’s the original game and all four expansions, a package that goes for $60 regularly. Whoa!

Activision announces star-studded voice casts for Spider-Man: Edge of Time, X-Men Destiny
Activision has dug deep into their corporate pocketbook to pull out the Hollywood voice talent that’ll headline Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny this Fall.
Spider-Man: Edge of Time will star Josh Keaton as The Amazing Spider-Man and Christopher Daniel Barnes as Spider-Man 2099. They will be joined by Val Kilmer as Walker Sloan (a mad scientist in the 2099 universe), Laura Vandervoort (Lisa on “V”) as Mary Jane Watson and Katee Sackhoff as the Black Cat. Interestingly enough, her “Battlestar Galactica” castmate, Tricia Helfer, voiced the character in 2008’s Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
For X-Men Destiny, Activision has enlisted the voice talents of three sci-fi veterans. Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes”), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch) and Scott Porter (“Caprica”) will play three all-new mutant characters: Grant Alexander, Aimi Yoshida and Adrian Luca.
“These amazing casts of talented Hollywood actors help bring the rich storylines of Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny to life,” said Vicharin Vadakan, Director of Marketing, Activision Publishing. “Players this fall will get to control the destiny of their own mutants or save Spider-Man and through this voice talent feel like they are part of the action.”
Playable demos of Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny will be available at this weekend’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

Capcom cancels Mega Man Legends 3
Megafans have been clamoring for Mega Man Legends 3 for a long time, but that hasn’t stopped Capcom from canceling the game. In a post on the Capcom-Unity blog, the publisher revealed that “different sectors of the company […] felt that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project [did not meet] the required criteria” to go into full production. The downloadable Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version has also been canceled.
While I understand that games get canceled all the time, Capcom’s decision to solicit feedback from fans during the project’s development makes the cancellation feel like a slap in the face.
Finally, Capcom wanted gamers to know that Kenji Inafune’s departure from the company had nothing to do with the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. I have a feeling few Mega Man fans believe that.

Supergiant narrates Bastion’s XBLA launch tomorrow
Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade promotion on the Xbox Live Arcade is finally here and Supergiant Games’ Bastion is up first. The action RPG looks very reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda and the Warp Zoned staff loved it at this year’s PAX East. If Bastion is new to you, you can check out the launch trailer above to get a taste of the game’s constant narration or there’s a description right here:
Bastion is an action role-playing experience that redefines storytelling in games, with a reactive narrator who marks your every move. Explore more than 40 lush hand-painted environments as you discover the secrets of the Calamity, a surreal catastrophe that shattered the world to pieces. Wield a huge arsenal of upgradeable weapons and battle savage beasts adapted to their new habitat. Finish the main story to unlock New Game Plus mode and continue your journey!
Bastion will be available to download from the XBLA tomorrow for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). A PC version is also in the works, which will be available later this year.
