Break back into a zombie-filled Alcatraz in a new trailer for CoD: Black Ops 4’s “Blood of the Dead” map
After shining a spotlight on “Voyage of Despair” and “IX,” Activision and Treyarch are back with a new trailer for “Blood of the Dead,” the third Zombies map set to launch alongside Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
Players will once again descend on a zombie-filled Alcatraz in this remake of “Mob of the Dead” that also features the original Zombies heroes:
“Blood of the Dead” takes the classic Zombies heroes — Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai – on a journey to a secret laboratory beneath the iconic Alcatraz Penitentiary. Encountering a familiar enemy Hell-bent on imprisoning them for all eternity, the Primis crew quickly realize that the future predicted by the Kronorium – the future they sought to secure – is now in serious jeopardy.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 12.

Silver Sable makes her debut in Comic-Con trailer for Insomniac’s Spider-Man

Insomniac Games made a big splash at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con thanks to a brand new trailer for their upcoming Spider-Man game. The Story Trailer gave fans their first look at the mercenary Silver Sable, as well as additional clips featuring Mary Jane Watson, Miles Morales, Mayor Norman Osborn, and other members of the game’s rogue’s gallery:
The high stakes in Marvel’s New York escalate, as Mayor Norman Osborn is willing to take no risks during his re-election bid. He hires Silver Sable and her security force, Silver Sable International, to restore order to the city – which includes stopping someone he believes is contributing to the mayhem: Spider-Man.
The developer also unveiled a second trailer for Spider-Man’s Velocity Suit, which will be available to all PS4 players who pre-order the game. Designed by comic book artist Adi Granov, the Velocity Suit will also be unlockable within the game for those who choose not to pre-order.
You can find both trailers after the break, and don’t forget, Spider-Man launches exclusively for the PS4 on September 7.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2, Galak-Z: Variant S, Pool Panic, more coming to Nintendo eShop this week

Nintendo (with an assist from Capcom) has a MEGA-sized update planned for the Nintendo eShop this week.
That’s because all eight Mega Man X will soon be available for the Nintendo Switch thanks to the Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2. Players can relive the classic side-scrolling action from the 90s in Legacy Collection 2, while Legacy Collection 2 includes the later games released in the early 2000s. But both collections will include the brand new X Challenge Mode, which pits players against two deadly bosses in two-on-one battles.
Also available to download for the Switch this week is Galak-Z: Variant S, a space-shooting Action RPG that lets players tangle with an evil baron’s army of nasty troops. But if you’d prefer something a little weirder, Adult Swim Games will launch Pool Panic, a Switch game that turns the entire world into a giant pool table (and adds bizarro faces to all the balls).
You can learn more about the rest of this week’s additions to the Nintendo eShop (including Hungry Shark World, Guts and Glory, Bomb Chicken, and more) after the break. (more…)

EA Sports selects Antonio Brown as the Cover Athlete for Madden NFL 19
Madden NFL 19 will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in just a few weeks (on August 10), and now we know who’ll be gracing the game’s cover.
Antonio Brown is widely considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and a recent inductee into Madden’s “99 Club” for players with a 99 Overall rating in the game. Now, the Pittsburgh Steelers star can add another accolade to his trophy case as the official Cover Athlete of Madden NFL 19.
“I am beyond honored to be on the cover of both Madden games,” said Brown. “There’s a lot of milestones athletes dream of, and after being inducted into the Madden 99 Club earlier this year, and now appearing on the cover of this year’s games, it’s clear that business is not just booming, but I’m also among the all-time greatest with these honors.”
“AB has taken the league by storm the past few years and is arguably one of the best wide receivers to ever play in the NFL,” said Joshua Rabenovets, the Senior Brand Director at EA Sports. “His game is hot, he’s got a ton of personality on and off the field – he was an easy choice for the Madden NFL 19 cover.”
Good luck to Antonio Brown during the 2018-2019 season, and please insert your own “Madden Curse” joke here.
A new Madden NFL 19 trailer featuring Brown can be found after the break. (more…)

Telltale unveils Teaser Trailer for Walking Dead: The Final Season’s “Live Gameplay Demo” at Comic-Con this week
Telltale Games is bringing The Walking Dead: The Final Season to the San Diego Comic-Con later this week. The developer will give fans a look at the last chapter of Clementine’s journey during a “Live Gameplay Demo” on Thursday, July 19. A video replay of this event will be available online a day later.

Dark Horse will publish a prequel comic for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Zombies Mode
Last week, Dark Horse announced that they’re working on another Call of Duty Zombies comic series, which will serve as a prequel to the Zombies Mode set to be included in this Fall’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
The new Call of Duty Zombies comic will once again be written by Justin Jordan, with interior artwork by Andres Ponce and Mauro Vargas, cover artwork by E.M. Gist, and colors by Dan Jackson. According to the Dark Horse Newsfeed, we know that Issue #1 will be available in stores on September 5 (with a collected edition sure to follow sometime in the future):
In Call of Duty Zombies, pieces are set in motion that shadowy forces have long been putting into place. They believe what comes next cannot be stopped. Little do they know an unlikely group from around the globe is about to be assembled.
Dark Horse Comics and Activision invite fans to meet the brand-new cast of characters from this year’s game!
Gist will sit down for a signing session at Dark Horse’s Comic-Con booth tomorrow, July 19, at 3:00 PM (Pacific Time). He’ll be joined by Treyarch’s Jason Blundell and Craig Houston.
In case you missed it, Activision and Treyarch recently released a new Story Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Zombies Mode. The game will be available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 12.
