Daily Scoop: January 7, 2013 – Just another manic Monday

Monday’s back again! It’s like there’s some kind of pattern with it or something. At least the weekend was awesome! The boyfriend and I played tons of Borderlands 2. We’re playing with Axton and Maya, and I’m trying to get all of the challenges in order to get that darn trophy. It’s fun, except for the one where you have to kill 200 enemies with splash damage from a rocket launcher. Well, all right, it’s really fun using a rocket launcher all the time, but that gets expensive! Also, I picked up the Adventure Time game for the 3DS, which I cannot wait to start playing! Too bad real life gets in the way of gaming.

Not much in the way of deals today, unless you’re one of those people who has made a new years resolution to get in shape. If that’s the case, Amazon has you covered with their Featured New Year, New You Deals. Start out with the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect Nike+ Bundle for $249.99, then scoop up Just Dance 4 for $29.99, and maybe even Zumba Fitness Rush for $29.99. You’ll be in shape in no time!

Got a few great t-shirts today: (more…)

Aero Porter Review: You’ll Never Look At Luggage the Same Way Again

aeroporter-header

If you had told me a few weeks ago that a game about sorting luggage for an airport was addictively fun, I wouldn’t have believed you. But now that I’ve played Aero Porter for hours without being able to put it down, I fully understand how much fun it can be. Level-5’s luggage-sorting game, downloadable from the 3DS eShop, is quick and easy, yet also challenging. A collaboration between Level-5 and designer Yoot Saito, Aero Porter is one of those simple-to-learn, hard-to-master puzzle games, in which you must at first separate luggage by color, and then later work around the added complications the game throws at you. Is this tiny game worth the $4.99 price tag? (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 4, 2013 – Finally Friday

It’s finally Friday, and I couldn’t be happier to see the weekend. I don’t have much planned other than Dungeons & Dragons, but I’d love to do some cleaning and get some laundry done. Oh, and I should probably go food shopping, considering I’m out of everything you could imagine. I guess maybe I shouldn’t have been this excited for the weekend…

There’s not really too much going on today when it comes to deals. Best Buy is having a 2-day sale, though not all the sale prices seem to have gone live yet. Keep an eye on the video game deals, especially if you want to pick up Gravity Rush and/or Uncharted: Golden Abyss. There are quite a few more Vita games there as well.

Not really too much going on with t-shirts, either, but you might like this video game-styled one: (more…)

Borderlands: Unconquered Review: Came, Saw, Did Not Conquer

borderlandsunconquered-header

John Shirley returns to the world of Pandora with Borderlands: Unconquered, his second novel set within the Borderlands game series. Borderlands: The Fallen was based on the first game, and it was a good one. I was hoping this return to the world of the infamous Vault hunters would be another good one, but I was more than a little disappointed – in every way. (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 3, 2013 – Is it the weekend yet?

It is a scientifically proven fact that shorter work weeks always seem to feel like the longest weeks ever. It’s like I’ve already had a full five-day work week in less than two days. Science, how is this even possible?

GameStop is giving extra for your trade-ins right now. When you trade any three games, you get an extra $10 credit. Not too shabby! Amazon’s also got some deals going on as well. You can get an Xbox LIVE 12 Month Gold Membership for $10 off, as well as NASCAR The Game: Inside Line. Scoop ’em up!

Three good t-shirts today, two from the same site: (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 2, 2013 – Back to the real world

Good morning and Happy New Year, dear readers! Did you have a wonderful holiday break? I played so much stuff, I can’t even remember all of it. I put what I could in the article that’ll be coming up later, so be sure to read what we played in January to see what I couldn’t put down. Sadly, today it’s back to work for me and most of the rest of the world. The break flew by all too quickly!

What kind of deals are there out there for you right now to spend your precious Christmas money on? It doesn’t look like there’s too much going on, honestly. GameStop has some typical deals going on in their weekly ad, including Halo 4 for $39.99, Dead Space 2 for $14.99, as well as $49.99 for Far Cry 3 and Diablo III.

Gamefly is having a big year-end sale on used games, including games like Child of Eden, Homefront, and Lego Batman (those are all $12.99). This sale ends tomorrow, so scoop ’em up!

By far the best sale going on all month is over at Insert Coin, an online gamer clothing shop. All of their clothes and accessories are based on/inspired by video games, and most of them are amazing! Many of their older styles are up to %60 off right now, so take a look. You won’t be disappointed!

Daily Scoop: December 24, 2012 – Less than 24 hours until Christmas

You’ve only got one more shopping day until Christmas is here! That is, if you’re one of those crazy people who actually shops in real stores still. I haven’t set foot in a mall for as long as I can remember. In fact, the only physical stores I ever go into are the ones that sell groceries, Redcap’s Corner, and Atomic City Comics. Other than that, I avoid them as much as possible!

Amazon is having some great digital deals right now. F.3.A.R. is $4.99, Max Payne 3 is $14.99, and Saints Row the Third – The Full Package is $7.49. You can also get some cheap packs, like the 2K Strategy Super Pack (loaded with Civilization and Stronghold games) for $19.99 and the Bioshock Dual Pack for $4.99. Those are deals you can get without leaving your house!

Two awesome t-shirts for you today, even if one is a repeat: (more…)

Daily Scoop: December 21, 2012 – Welcome, Apocalypse

Well, it’s December 21, and we’re still alive, though perhaps not for long. I’ve been seeing all different times for when the apocalypse is supposed to happen. We’re heading to the movies later, so maybe if it could wait until we get home? That would be super!

The Steam holiday sale is in full swing, and you’d be a fool not to check it out. Or maybe you’d be a fool to check it out. That depends entirely on how many games you have, whether you’re a hopeless digital hoarder, etc.

There’s also a great Humble Indie Bundle going on right now as well. It’s a great time to be a PC gamer!

Just two t-shirts today, both at the same site: (more…)
