Sony @ E3 11: Sony adds Cinema Now to PlayStation Network
Jack Tretton announced at the Sony press conference that they’ll be adding Cinema Now, a website that allows you to watch new Hollywood releases on your PlayStation 3.
Tretton said it would be available later this year.
Daily Scoop: June 6, 2011 – E3 is here!
It’s time for E3! Some of the press conferences have already happened, but the big three are still to come. We’ll be reporting on them, so stay tuned here for all of your E3 needs!
While you’re waiting, you might want to check out some of the deals going on and pick up some games on the cheap! Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games today is for all of you football fans out there! The MadCatz NFL PlayStation 3 controllers are just $25.00 each, down from $39.99. Pick up your, uh, Buffalo Bills controller today! That’s a football team, right?
Also, it’s week two of the Dads & Grads promotion at Amazon, and that means handheld deals! There’s plenty of great stuff there, including Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection for PSP – arguably the best version of FF IV yet!
And after a slow t-shirt weekend, today’s Qwertee has me wondering if it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all:
<3!

Spider-Man: Edge of Time trailer is intense
The Spider-Man: Edge of Time trailer is pretty epic, with intense battles (including one with Anti-Venom), backflips, and a soundtrack that could be from Inception. Perhaps this game will help answer the age-old question: how do I shot web?
Spider-Man: Edge of Time will be available this Fall and will be on display at next week’s E3 Expo.

Darksiders II trailer is killer
The Darksiders II trailer is here, and now THQ is going to have you playing as the second horseman of the apocalypse: good old Death. It’s coming in 2012, which gives you plenty of time to go back to your old save in the first game and finish it up.

Daily Scoop: June 3, 2011 – It’s Friday, I’m in love
… in love with video games, I mean! I’m off today for a wedding, and I should be getting ready, but instead I’m sitting here working on some articles and trying not to play Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness all day long. Seeing as how I still haven’t started getting ready, I would say that I am failing.
But hey, at least we’ve got Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games, which is Square Enix’s Bust-a-Move Universe for the Nintendo 3DS. This might be the first 3DS game I’ve seen as a daily deal! It’s $17.99 down from $29.99, and promises to be “a whole universe of fun,” allowing you to “clear dozens of challenging levels as you explore an entire universe filled with puzzle fun.” Doesn’t that just sound charming? Oh yeah, and this game is part of the buy one DS game, get one 50% off I mentioned yesterday. So you can add deals to deals!
No good shirts today for gamers, but I’m trying to stop myself from buying this amazing Steampunk Seahorse t-shirt over at Ript:
I’m playing BioShock 2 right now, and seeing this floating around outside of Rapture would be pretty righteous.

D3’s E3 lineup is Ben 10 kart game, EDF: Insect Armageddon, White Knight II
D3 Publisher – known for their hilarious tongue twisters (D3’s Dream Trigger 3D for the 3DS, anyone?) – has a short but powerful E3 lineup.
Ben 10 Galactic Racing is a kart game in the Ben 10 universe, featuring tracks on five planets and “four-player multiplayer mayhem.” Earth Defense Force: Insect Armaggedon brings giant insects and aliens to Earth once again, calling on the EDF to stop them. And White Knight Chronicles II is the long-awaited (at least, for Mike Gutierrez) sequel by Level-5 that is finally coming to America.
More information can be found at D3 Publisher’s website. Check out full details of their lineup after the jump. (more…)

Uncharted 3 Collector’s Edition is off the charts
Naughty Dog has announced that there will be an Uncharted 3:Drake’s Deception Collector’s Edition, and, if you’ll pardon me quoting Sully, it’s pretty god damn awesome. There’s an exclusive steelbook case for the game, a Nathan Drake statue from Sideshow Collectibles, a full size replica of Drake’s belt buckle from Uncharted 3, and – perhaps my favorite – a replica of Drake’s necklace, with Sir Francis Drake’s ring on it. All of this comes in a traveling chest replica, which in itself is pretty sick. This whole package is priced at $99.99 and will be sold at the typical retailers.
But wait… there’s more! Each retailer will have exclusive pre-order bonuses – because who isn’t tired of that? Pick your poison:
- GameStop – Creepy Crawly Kickback (“allows you, when you’ve scored the requisite number of Medals, to turn into a swarm of deadly creatures to overwhelm your opponents as long as you’ve got time left on the Kickback countdown timer”)
- Best Buy – Regeneration Booster (“increases your healing rate in multiplayer, so that you can recover from your wounds and re-enter battle with full health sooner”)
- Wal-Mart – Callout Weapon Mod (“allows you to equip your old friend, the AK-47, with a laser sight that enables your entire team to see the location of the opponent you are currently targeting”)
Last – but never least – is Amazon, which gives you a whopping three bonuses – two Weapon Mods and a Kickback. The Carpet Bomb Kickback “allows you to send out three grenades with a single throw to blanket your opponent – or take out a group of opponents – with multiple explosions,” while the Clip Size Mods for the Para- 9 and G-MAL “increase the size of your bullet clip, allowing you to trade more shots with your opponent before you have to reload.” Check out Arne Meyer’s full report at the PlayStation Blog for more details.
This has me really excited, considering the precious rarity of the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Collector’s Edition. Naughty Dog is driving me crazy making me wait until November 1 for this game.

Daily Scoop: June 2, 2011 – BOGO Thursday!
No, that title doesn’t mean you can buy one Thursday and get one Thursday free, silly! It means that there are two big BOGO sales going on at Amazon today! Well, the first one isn’t too big – it’s buy one Nintendo Selects and get a second one free. There are only four games here – The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Mario Super Sluggers, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Wii Sports. Two games for $19.99? That’s a deal! The second one is buy one DS game, get a second one for 50%. This is the perfect time for you to pick up Radiant Historia, or, if you’re like me, you’ll use this as a great time to get all the Pokemon games you’re missing. Bad Amazon! BAD!
I guess they didn’t want to splurge too hard with their deals, because today’s Deal of the Day in video games is a snoozer: Sega’s Football Manager 2011 for $14.99. If you like managing the football and you…oh, whatever. This is too boring to even banter about.
For all my fellow t-shirt addicts, today’s Tee Fury is called “Black Ops Teddy:”
I’m not going to buy that one, but if that Ninja Mario sideart ever pops up as a shirt, I’m all over that!
