The Games of September 2012

It seems like a trip to Pandora is in the cards for most of the Warp Zoned staff, with the exception of our intrepid Editor-in-Chief. But I think we’ll be playing enough Borderlands 2 for him as well. There are plenty of good games coming out this month: from Kirby to the Lee twins, from the Family Guy cast to a boatload of Pandas, this month has something for everyone, and more than we could conceivably finish in four weeks. Read on to find out what we’ll be playing this busy September. (more…)
Warpback: What We Played in August 2012

The Summer (and the long game drought that went with it) has finally come to an end. So it was mostly a month of backlog cleanup for the Warp Zoned crew. A few of us went further back than others, but everybody got some good gaming in as they hid from the heat. (more…)
The Games of August 2012

Things are getting hot in the month of August! And no, we’re not talking about the weather, but rather the awesome lineup of games coming out. Here at Warp Zoned, we’re hoping to get our hands on one of the Operation Rainfall darlings, The Last Story, as well as the long-awaited Sleeping Dogs, and the much-hyped Darksiders II. Read on to see what we’ll be playing for the next few weeks! (more…)
Warpback: What We Played in July 2012

July just flew by here at Warp Zoned! We chose to stay inside to beat the heat, and played a lot of video games. Some of us played a few of the games that trickled out in the slow summer, while others were busy annihilating their backlogs. One thing is agreed: we all enjoyed ourselves. Read on to see exactly what we played in the month of July! (more…)
The Games of July 2012

July may seem like a slow month for new games, but Square Enix was busy, and will hopefully keep some of us busy for the next few weeks. Other than that, there’s a lot of random in this list of what we plan on playing in July. Check it out after the jump, and tell us what you hope to be playing this month! (more…)
Warpback: What We Played in June 2012

Whew! June flew by in a haze of heat waves and Internet memes, and somewhere in the middle, the happy gamers at Warp Zoned got a lot of gaming done. We spent a lot of time hitting up our backlogs and playing games we should have played and/or finished ages ago, but some of us dove into some new games as well. All in all, it was a pretty productive month… if you can call upping our gamer scores productive. (We do.) Hit the break for the full details on what we’ve been up to! (more…)
Spec Ops: The Line Interview: Crossing the Narrative Desert With Lead Writer Walt Williams

Spec Ops: The Line, which takes players on a military operation inside Dubai after a post-apocalyptic sandstorm, will be available on store shelves tomorrow. We recently had a chance to talk with Walt Williams, the game’s very verbose Lead Writer.
During our interview, we got him to open up about what inspired the team at Yager Development and how moral choices play into the narrative, as well as Dubai’s status as a “city that shouldn’t be” and how that made it the perfect place to set a game.
Take a walk into the eye of the storm with us after the break. (more…)
