Atlus-published PSP games get huge price drop on PSN

Atlus wants to takeover your PSP or Vita with their “Re-Vita-lized PSN Price Drop Event.” The publisher has slashed the prices of their PlayStation Network games by 25-50%, meaning that now is the best time to dive into a quirky Japanese RPG (or several, which I’m sure Atlus would prefer).
Here’s the full list of “Re-Vita-lized” titles and their new prices:
- Persona (New Price: $19.99, Original Price: $39.99)

South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge is a sick little monkey on XBLA on March 30
South Park Digital Studios has revealed that South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge will be available to download from the Xbox Live Arcade on March 30. The XBLA-exclusive platformer will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
Tenorman’s Revenge was developed by Other Ocean and sees the titular Scott Tenorman attempt to take his revenge not just on Cartman, but the entire town:
Fans can play locally or online as Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny as they travel through time and space to battle Scott Tenorman and his army of Ginger robots before they destroy South Park and, more importantly, the boys’ Microsoft Xbox 360 hard drive.
Oh, by the way, I realize the “South Park” reference in the article title comes from the first season. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the show, mmm’kay?
Daily Scoop: March 27, 2012 – Kickstarter edition!
It’s freezing cold today in sunny Philadelphia! March has come back with a vengeance and is reminding us it’s still too early to pull out our jackets. But hey, I know what’ll warm you up: donating money to a good cause! Check out this Kickstarter article about my talented friends over at Cipher Prime. They made my all-time favorite iPad game, Pulse, which you should also buy.
Let’s see, what’s going on today? Oh yeah, it’s an all-day Video Game Gold Box Event over at Amazon! The big deal is $40 off the 320GB PlayStation 3, bringing it down to a ludicrously cheap $259.99. That’s a great price for the system, especially with so much storage!
The rest of the Gold Box deals are:
- 6am PST/9am EST: Vicious combat, dark humor, and lightning-quick action on the PlayStation Vita – It’s Army Corps of Hell for $29.99!
- 8am PST/11am EST: Feel the exhilaration of the full-body dancing workout that you know and love! – This one is Zumba Fitness Rush for the Xbox 360 Kinect for $33.99!
- 11am PST/2pm EST: This controller redefines motion gaming on the PlayStation3! – Could this be the Move?
- 2pm PST/5pm EST: Step into the iconic octagon fighting cage to battle in one-on-one action for the ultimate fighting championship! – I’m guessing this will be UFC Unleashed 3…
- 4pm PST/7pm EST: Action RPG Meets First Person Shooter! – Probably Borderlands
- 6pm PST/9pm EST: A sports-party game set at the 2012 Summer Olympic games in London and featuring iconic video game characters! – Mario & Sonic at London 2012 Olympic Games, yeah?
- 8pm PST/11pm EST: The most technologically-advanced headset ever designed for PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming – I’m hoping an Astro headset!
I’ve also got two game-related shirts for you today: (more…)

Auditorium 2: Duet needs your help on Kickstarter!
Ever wanted to help out an indie company, but you weren’t sure how? Now is your chance. Philadelphia-based indie studio Cipher Prime is trying to fund the sequel to their groundbreaking hit, Auditorium, through the magic of Kickstarter. The sequel, called Auditorium 2: Duet, only has three days left to make another $11,000. I’m going to pledge $30, but I’m torn between which reward I want: the t-shirt, or the extra copy of the game to play with my boyfriend.
Auditorium isn’t an easy game to explain. You “create music by bending dazzling rivers of light and color through brain-twisting puzzles.” Sound awesome? It is. Duet will allow you to solve puzzles cooperatively, which is just as sexy as it sounds.
Technical Director Dain Saint said, “Donations gave us our start; they let us know that people cared enough about our games that we could do it full time. If this Kickstarter works, we’ll know we can keep doing crazy things with reckless abandon.” Creative Director William Stallwood promised he’d give me a lapdance while wearing his jeggings if I helped get them some donations. So, seriously people, it’s time to open up your wallet.
Here’s how close they are: (more…)
Brandon Sanderson and Little Orbit unite to transform Mistborn saga into an epic RPG

Take note, fantasy junkies; publisher Little Orbit plans to put out an RPG that will serve as a prequel to Brandon Sanderson’s best-selling Mistborn series, set several hundred years before the first Mistborn novel. Mistborn: Birthright will even include an original storyline penned by Sanderson himself.
This is not Sanderson’s first foray into video games; he recently finished work on Infinity Blade II and an accompanying novella called Infinity Blade: Awakening.
The upcoming RPG is due out in 2013, and will be available on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac. The gameplay will feature a unique combat system that includes “Allomancy”, an ability familiar to fans of the series that involves using metals to enhance the physical and mental capabilities of the user. For more on the game, you should check out the official website.

Really control your TV with The Force in this Kinect Star Wars launch trailer
When was the last time you tried to use The Force to reach your television remote? Was it when you were a little kid? Or was it yesterday? I’m betting on the latter.
Next week, Microsoft and LucasArts will make The Force an ally of gamers everywhere when Kinect Star Wars launches for the Xbox 360. It may not make your remote easier to reach, but it will make The Force feel more real than any game before.
Want proof? Check out the game’s launch trailer up top.

New Namco Bandai teaser site has a big X

Namco Bandai Japan has launched a teaser site with a big ol’ X on it. The rest of the page is pretty bare, but we know the publisher is hard at work on a game with a very prominent “X” in the title. I’m not saying for sure that this is related to Tekken X Street Fighter, but the evidence is… you know what, no, I’m saying it. This site is definitely related to Tekken X Street Fighter, I’m sure of it.
Unless I’m wrong, which I could be.

Rumor: Silicon Knights working on Eternal Darkness 2

Dennis Dyack, the President of Silicon Knights, recently sat down with GamesIndustry.biz to discuss his company’s legal squabble with Epic Games. He also hinted that the company’s next project, a “next generation” game will be a sequel to one of their most requested properties:
Dyack’s not ready to talk about the next-gen project, but given his comments on Eternal Darkness recently, we have a strong suspicion that Silicon Knights is actually working on the fan favorite.
“We’re really excited and we’re working on our next generation stuff. We’re working on an IP that’s our most requested and we’re really excited about that.”
Interestingly enough, Nintendo reapplied for the trademark to Eternal Darkness in February 2010, making Eternal Darkness 2 a very real possibility. Though it should be noted that Silicon Knights themselves own the trademark to Too Human, so we could also be looking at Too Human 2 (the franchise was planned as a trilogy after all).
Hopefully we’ll find out more at E3.
