Binary Domain story trailer nails that movie feel
Sega released a story trailer for its upcoming Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 shooter Binary Domain. While the game still looks like the generic The Terminator/The Matrix-inspired “man vs. machine” story, Sega still did a great job of putting together a trailer you would expect to see in the theater. Binary Domain should release on 360 and PS3 in early 2012.

Alien Zombies arrive and Killzone 3 expands in PlayStation Store 6/21 update
The PlayStation Store had one of its sparser updates last night, but managed to bring a couple gems to the people. The E-Rated Alien Zombie Mega Death debuted, coming chock full of adventure levels and survival modes. Killzone 3‘s From the Ashes pack also arrived, bringing a nice mix of new wave and old school multiplayer maps to the game. Finally, all you early adopters can check out a 3D demo of Virtua Tennis 4 in all its PlayStation Move compatibility.

New Catherine trailer doesn’t give you many choices
“Meet the two women with (almost) the same name who are complicating Vincent’s life. Who would you choose?” Hmm, I don’t know – Vincent probably should have given Catherine a fake name and only gone to her apartment instead of letting her know where he lives. Then he could have a baby with Katherine and still have a little Catherine on the side.
Wait, what am I talking about? He should obviously just go live with the sheep and become some kind of monk. Duh.
Catherine launches on July 26 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You should totally order the deluxe edition.
Lego Universe getting free-to-play version
Great news, Lego fans! Lego Universe, the adorable and innovative MMO for the PC, will be getting a free-to-play trial area for people who don’t want to commit to paying without testing the waters first. As of this August, players will be able to try a limited section of the game, including two “adventure zones” and a “player property area” for as long as they want. The game will also be available as a digital download, getting rid of the disc completely. The idea is to “make the game more accessible to players, without the immediate obligation to purchase or subscribe,” according to Jesper Vilstrup, the Vice President of the LEGO Group. Add to that the fact that there are no plans to introduce micro-transactions, and I’d say they’re doing a good job.
Those interested in getting full game access can subscribe for just $10 a month, giving them full access to over 15 adventure zones and five player property areas, as well as gaining access to competitive and community events and new expansions (did someone say Ninjago???). It’s tempting me right now, as the stigma I associate with World of Warcraft ends up sticking to anything with the word MMO in, around, or on it. Lego Universe has a much nicer ring to it.
Bejeweled 3 coming to DS, PS3, Xbox 360
It’s a match made in heaven as PopCap Games has announced they’ll be bringing Bejeweled 3 to the DS, PS3 and Xbox 360. In addition to the retail releases, a downloadable version of the game will appear on the PSN and XBLA. All three… err, five… versions will be released this Fall.
“Critics agree that Bejeweled 3 raised the standard for match-3 games to new heights,” said Ed Allard, studio head at PopCap Games. “This holiday, we’re bringing that experience to PlayStation 3, PSN, Xbox 360, Xbox Live, and Nintendo DS gamers with adaptations that look great and play even better on each platform.”
This week is the best time to catch up on PopCap’s previous puzzlers as the current XBLA Deal of the Week features big savings on the publisher’s back catalog including Bejeweled 2 and Bejeweled Blitz Live.

Duke Nukem will return, says Take-Two
Speaking to Forbes at this year’s E3 Expo, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the company will continue to bet on Duke Nukem. While the tight-lipped CEO didn’t reveal any more, he did reveal that Take-Two plans to publish another game starring the Duke:
Forbes: Does Take-Two own the intellectual property surrounding Duke? Could you spin that out into not just new games, but movies and TV?
Zelnick: We don’t really talk about it in detail but you will see future Duke IP coming from this company.
Of course, it’s important to remember that this interview took place before Duke Nukem Forever received a dreadful drubbing from critics. Though when has that ever stopped a publisher from continuing a bestselling franchise?
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford made the same proclamation when his company purchased the rights to Duke Nukem back in September.

Shadows of the Damned trailer launches from the depths of hell
A pair of mad geniuses, Suda 51 (No More Heroes) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil), came together to develop Shadows of the Damned for Electronic Arts. The hellbound horror title is now available and EA has unleashed a launch trailer for the game.
I think it’s safe to say that only a damn fool would ignore this game.
