Use the Force to view the Kinect Star Wars E3 trailer

So what do we know after watching the Kinect Star Wars trailer? Always in motion, the future is, but the game appears to be a saga-spanning epic that lets players battle droids on Naboo, pilot a pod racer on Tatooine and fly an X-Wing into space. Actions are performed by quite literally kicking a droid in the face, making the hand motion for a Force Push, swinging a Lightsaber in combat (Lightsaber not included, but the developers encourage you to use one) and mimicking the controls of the vehicles.

Hopefully we’ll see more at E3, but if you’ve got a big enough living room, Kinect Star Wars could be the game that makes all your “Stars Wars Kid” fantasies come true.

Customize Skills with Runestones in Diablo III

Blizzard wants players to be able to have the option to highly customize their characters in Diablo III. In order to accomplish this lofty goal, Blizzard has introduced Runestones. Runestones are used in order to augment your skills. Each class has 20+ Skills and players are allowed access to seven of those Skills at any one time.

There are five types of Runestones: crimson, indigo, obsidian, golden, and alabaster. In addition to the different types of colors, Runestones also come in different ranks of power. The higher the rank, the better effect on the skills it is attached to. Each of the Runestone’s effects vary depending on what skill you actually attach it to. For instance, the crimson Runestone will enhance a barbarian’s Whirlwhind Attack to cause rocks to fly in every direction, dealing area of effect damage. The same crimson Runestone will cause the witch doctor’s Acid Cloud spell to cause immediate damage instead of its original damage over time effect.

To see videos on how Runestones alter your Skills, head on over to the official Diablo III website.

New trailer reveals Saints Row: The Third’s November 15 release

The words “over the top” and “Saints Row” are pretty much permanently linked in the eyes of many gamers. And that definitely won’t change when Saints Row: The Third is released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 15.

Check out the game’s E3 trailer above for some of the wildest action you’ve ever seen, including a rooftop shootout between the Third Row Saints and a squadron of VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) jets. Yup, I’d say that qualifies as “over the top.”

Silent Hill: Downpour trailer rains down on E3

Welcome back to Silent Hill. The perpetually foggy town will frighten gamers again later this year in Silent Hill: Downpour, but first Konami has unveiled the debut trailer for Vatra Games’ take on the horror franchise.

Downpour looks to combine classic Silent Hill scares with the escaped prisoner antics of The Fugitive (sadly lacking Tommy Lee Jones’ Gil Gerard). It’ll be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this Fall and will be on display during next week’s E3 Expo.
