Jackbox Party Pack 4 will include “Fibbage 3” and launch this Fall

Jackbox Games has announced (via their official website) that The Jackbox Party Pack 4 is in development and will be released this Fall.

The developer didn’t say what platforms The Jackbox Party Pack 4 will be available on, but the third game in the series debuted on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Amazon Fire in 2016, and a Nintendo Switch port for The Jackbox Party Pack 3 launched less than two weeks ago. I think it’s easy to assume the fourquel will make a repeat appearance on all five platforms.

However, one thing we do know is that Jackbox Party Pack 4 will include “Fibbage 3,” a new version of the developer’s less-than-truthful trivia game:

If you’ve played the prequels, you’ll know the joy of fooling your friends with your clever lies, while hunting for the real answers to ridiculous trivia questions. And if you haven’t, there’s plenty of time! The new one won’t be out for months!

Especially eagle-eyed fans might notice that there are 10 choices in that screenshot, rather than the traditional max of nine. That’s because this time around, the audience gets to join the fun by voting on their own decoy lies, and guessing the truth along with the players. Now, fooling the audience can really boost your score, so make sure to get as many gullible people as possible to join!

Jackbox Games will reveal more details about Jackbox Party Pack 4 as its release date gets closer.

Rock out to these screenshots from “Starfish Mainstage,” another new stage coming to Splatoon 2

Nintendo recently announced that fans will be able to return to the world of Splatoon 2 on July 21, and Nintendo UK pitched in with a quick look at “Starfish Mainstage,” a new stage set to appear in the Switch sequel:

This is Starfish Mainstage. It’s an outdoor music venue that hosts concerts for all types of music acts. The now legendary “Squid Squad” played here once, and it’s considered a bit of a holy site for devotees of rock music. It’s a wonder that all the ink spray doesn’t cause the equipment to short circuit, but we suppose they’ve got it all figured out.

“Starfish Mainstage” seems to feature a fairly wide open design, which you can see for yourself in a pair of screenshots available after the break. (more…)

Gun Media and Illfonic will release Friday the 13th: The Game on May 26

Fans were rather upset when Friday the 13th: The Game missed its original “Early 2017” launch date. But don’t worry, the first video game starring Jason Voorhees in nearly 30 years will be available just in time for Summer Camp season… Gun Media and Illfonic have announced it’ll be available to download for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 26.

Unlike the earlier Friday the 13th games, Friday the 13th: The Game is a multiplayer contest pitting four counselors against one player who takes control of Jason. If this seems a little unfair, well, that’s the point.

With the base game on its way to completion, Gun Media and Illfonic have begun work on the boxed retail release and a free single-player expansion, both of which are scheduled to be released later this Summer.

Though we haven’t received a new Friday the 13th film since the 2009 reboot, Jason Voorhees has kept himself busy with video game work. In addition to Friday the 13th: The Game, the slasher also appeared as a downloadable character in 2015’s Mortal Kombat X.

Xbox Store Today: Cities Skylines, Halo Wars Definitive Edition, Deformers, more

Build and destroy in today’s Xbox Games Store update…

Cities: Skylines was originally released for the PC back in 2015, but console players will get the chance to create the cityscape of their dreams with its Xbox One debut. Rebuilt from the ground up to make use of the Xbox One controller, Cities: Skylines also includes the After Dark expansion, which adds nightlife and tourist attractions to your urban planning portfolio.

Also available to download today is Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, an Xbox One re-release of the real-time strategy game that was originally released for the Xbox 360. Featuring improved graphics, new Achievements, and all the DLC from the original game, players will be able to build their army and destroy the Covenant in this spinoff from the popular Halo series.

Finally today, GameStop’s GameTrust label will bring Ready At Dawn’s Deformers to the Xbox One. The “fast and frantic” multiplayer arena game includes both couch co-op and online battles with combatants ranging from aliens to animals to blobs.

You can learn more about all of these games (and a few other new releases) after the break. (more…)

Activision officially announces Call of Duty: WWII; Reveal Livestream scheduled for April 26

The rumors have been swirling about Call of Duty’s re-engagement with the Second World War for some time now. And after the success of Battlefield 1 (and the relative failure of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare), it’s reasonable to think that Activision might want to try something “new.”

That reasonable assumption turned into an official announcement today, as Activision and Sledgehammer Games confirmed that Call of Duty: WWII will be released this November for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The original Call of Duty helped popularize the World War II setting for shooters back in 2003, but the franchise hasn’t returned to the conflict since 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War.

But thankfully, we won’t have to wait very long to discover more Call of Duty: WWII intel. The publisher and developer also announced plans to host a “Worldwide Reveal Livestream” for the game on the official website on April 26 at 1:00 PM (Eastern Time).
