Nordic Games has acquired the THQ trademark

General Manager Klemens Kreuzer told Polygon that Nordic Games has “acquired the THQ trademark and will be publishing games under the THQ name.”
Nordic Games acquired much of the THQ catalog back in 2013 during the company’s auction after it declared bankruptcy. Nordic is having a hard time being seen as legitimate, and the company hopes that publishing games with the THQ branding will help.
Kreuzer told Polygon, “It was kind of surprise to some industry veterans and players that we were the winner of the auction of the THQ titles… The challenging fact is nobody has ever heard about Nordic Games before [the THQ auction]. There were so many articles with the headlines ‘Who the fuck is Nordic Games?’ We said, okay they were right… We have seen an uplift in the name of Nordic Games, and what we have also done is we have made a second deal with THQ where we bought the THQ trademark.”
Kreuzer also told Polygon that the company would be making more announcements at Gamescom in August. Hopefully this means some news about Darksiders III, which Nordic revealed was in pre-production earlier this year.

Yoshi’s Woolly World looks like a beautiful dream
I don’t know how many more of these adorable trailers I can take. Yoshi’s Woolly World, yet another gorgeous game Nintendo showed off at E3 2014, looks like the love child of Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Yoshi’s Island. Yoshi runs around the yarn world and eats enemies and pops out little balls of yarn and unravels things and I am about to die from how cute this is. There’s also two player mode and you can eat your co-op buddy and shoot them out and then they… re-ravel? I don’t even know anymore.
If you do not love this trailer, I don’t know if you have a soul.
Yoshi’s Woolly World will be out in the first half of 2015 for the Wii U.

Play as Bowser and troll your friends in Mario Party 10 for Wii U
Bowser wants you to know that this is now a Bowser Party in Mario Party 10. This E3 2014 trailer shows one player using the GamePad to control Bowser while the rest of the players control Mario and his friends. There are also new attractions and mini-games, so it’s not all just getting trolled by Bowser.
Mario Party 10 will be out in 2015 for the Wii U.

Check out yet another awesome Kirby world in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Kirby’s at it again in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. In the lovely E3 2014 trailer, everyone’s favorite Kirby moves around a world that looks like it’s claymation. The player can use the GamePad to draw rainbows, which Kirby can roll around on. And, of course, he turns into things like submarines, because he is Kirby, and that is how he rolls.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will be out in 2015 on the Wii U.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker E3 2014 trailer is painfully adorable
I think we can all agree that, while the same old question of “Who won E3 – Sony or Microsoft?” has still been going around, the truth is that Nintendo surprised and pleased everyone. The trailer for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is no exception to this. The levels are colorful and whimsical, and the ability to switch to first-person view with the GamePad made me want the game right now.
Luckily, the wait won’t be that long, as the projected release date for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on the Wii U is this holiday season.

Mario vs Donkey Kong coming to the Wii U
I’ve been holding off on buying a Wii U, mainly because my backlog of games is absolutely ludicrous. But after seeing this E3 2014 trailer for Mario vs Donkey Kong, I’m pretty sure my willpower is not going to be able to hold out. Not only does it have all of the mind-ticklingly fun puzzles you know and love, it’s also got a robust workshop, where you can make your own levels. There’s also a button that lets you “Yeah” and “UnYeah” things, which… I don’t even know what’s going on anymore.
Mario vs Donkey Kong will be out on the Wii U sometime in 2015.
Secret Ponchos available on Steam Early Access right now
See that? That is a glorious trailer for Secret Ponchos that Switchblade Monkeys showed at E3 2014. Even more amazing is the fact that the game launched on Steam Early Access just this morning. You can pick it up and start playing right now for just $11.24, which is 25% off the price. You can also get a pack of four copies for $33.74, so you can share them with your friends (and then murder them in-game). Please note, you need a controller to play the game as of right now.
Secret Ponchos was one of our beloved PAXpocalypse picks last year, so we’re excited about this news. The game will be coming to the PlayStation 4 this Fall and the full release of the PC version will be available sometime between this Fall and the first quarter of 2015.
