Daily Scoop: May 2, 2012 – Nero Day
It’s humpday, and it’s raining! But that’s OK, because I’m listening to Nero, which is brightening the day up considerably. It’s a tea and blanket kind of day, but instead, I’ve got Vitamin Water and a hoody. I guess I’ll just have to make do…
Not too much in the way of deals today! Amazon’s digital deals are: $7.99 for Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Augmented Edition, $6.99 for Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Standard Edition, and $4.99 for Dungeon Siege 3.
Other than that, GameStop’s got some new deals, including $50 off of the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars Bundle, bringing it to a more reasonable $399.99. Scoop it up!

Daily Scoop: April 30, 2012 – Goodbye, April!
It’s the last day of April and I say good riddance! April’s been nothing but cold weather and rain, with a major drought in video game releases. Bring on May, with the flowers and video games! Especially Diablo III.
Amazon’s got a brand new list of video game deals for this week:
- Save 45% on Sonic Generations on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
- Save 20% on White Knight Chronicles II
- Save 60% on the DS version of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean
- Save 25% on the Tritton Primer Wireless Stereo Headset for Xbox 360

Daily Scoop: April 27, 2012 – Lady Day!
Hooray, it’s Friday! And it’s a day to celebrate your geek ladies. Tonight is Girl Geek Dinners Philadelphia’s one year anniversary! To celebrate, we’re having a fun talk and then a happy hour. Also, I’ve been listening to Ladytron all day. Coincidence? I think not.
So, what deals are going on today? Well, there’s a lot of hubbub around Torchlight II – we found out yesterday that, depending on where you pre-order it from, you can either get access to the Neverwinter beta, or a free copy of the original Torchlight. Steam’s also got an additional bonus: order four copies and get them for $60 instead of $80. (In case you were wondering, yes, Ryan Littlefield and I have already partaken in this.) GameStop also has a few deals going on – though the page is advertised as “50% off,” there’s not really much there that is actually that cheap.
Amazon’s got the same old boring deals going on:

Daily Scoop: April 26, 2012 – Persona day!
It’s rainy and crappy here in Philadelphia, and a sort of melancholy has descended upon me. I just keep trying to remember that it’s nearly Friday, and that is helping to get me through the day!
Ryan Littlefield brought to my attention a certain Persona sale going on over at Amazon today. All of these games are on the PlayStation 2, and they’re all just $19.99:
- Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
- Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
- Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 2
- Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES
- Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne
Now is a great time to scoop these up and round off your Persona collection!

Daily Scoop: April 25, 2012 – T-shirt day!
Wow! Today there are five gaming-related t-shirts! It’s a staggering number. Fortunately, I don’t want a single one of them, as my thirst has been slaked by the one I’m wearing right now.
First up are the deals, of course! What’ve we got for you today? Well, Amazon’s got new weekly deals, including:
- Save 25% on Army Corps of Hell, taking this Vita game down to $29.50
- Save 19% on Turtle Beach XP500, bringing it down to $219.99 (yikes!)

Daily Scoop: April 24, 2012 – Back to work!
Well, I’ve been off for four straight days, and it’s been glorious. But today, I head back to work. Sad faces! I spent the weekend playing a lot of Dungeons and Dragons (my first ever Battle Interactive!), watching loads of “True Blood” (this show is darn good), reading some more Dresden Files (I’m on book seven), and lots and lots and lots of writing. Whew! Busy-ness.
Let’s see, what’s up for today? Amazon’s having a Gold Box dedicated to video games! The big deal is Mass Effect 3, which is just $29.99 today on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
The rest of the Gold Box deals are:
- 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST: “This wireless gaming headset is powered by state-of-the-art 2.4/5Ghz Dual Band WiFi radio technology that virtually eliminates wireless interference” – this is Turtle Beach Ear Force X32 Digital Headset for $64.99!
- 8:00 AM PST/11:00 AM EST: “PlayStation Eye” – Um, I guess this is the PlayStation Eye? :P – Yep! $20 today!
- 9:00 AM PST/12:00 PM EST: “Get your PlayStation 3 system moving!”
- 10:00 AM PST/1:00 PM EST: “PlayStation Move Navigation Controller” – OK, they’re not even trying now…
- 11:00 AM PST/2:00 PM EST: “This attachment is perfect for arcade style shooting games.” – Could this be the Sharpshooter?
- 12:00 PM PST/3:00 PM EST: “SNK’s flagship fighting game for the PS3!” Could this be King of Fighters XIII?
- 2:00 PM PST/5:00 PM EST: “Catch “Lightning” with this deal” – My guess is Final Fantasy XIII-2!
- 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST: “Created to appeal to the serious fighting game enthusiast, a FightStick that is made to bring the arcade experience closer to home”
- 8:00 PM PST/11:00 PM EST: “Set sail for a LEGO adventure on your Nintendo DS.” – Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, anyone?
Seems like mostly deals for PlayStation 3 owners, but perhaps a few cross-platform deals as well. Keep your eyes peeled for more information!

Daily Scoop: April 19, 2012 – No deals, dudes
Sorry everyone – there are no deals today. I mean, no new deals, anyway. There are still the old deals I’ve already talked about, so if you wanted anything on sale, you probably already got it. I apologize on behalf of the Internet.
But the good news is that there are three t-shirts dedicated to our happy hobby today! Read on for more details… (more…)
