Get CoD Modern Warfare 3-branded stuff this fall including an Xbox 360, Jeep, Mountain Dew
Sure, you’re planning to pick up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 this November. But do you plan to make your life revolve around the shooter franchise? Well, Activision is hoping that you do.
First up, they’ve got a special Modern Warfare 3-themed Xbox 360 system. The system will be priced at $399.99 and include a 320GB hard drive, two controllers, a Bluetooth headset, special startup and shutdown sounds and a copy of the game. The controller and the headset will both be available separately as well.
So you’ve got the game and you’ve got the system, but how do you plan to get to the store? Jeep is hoping you drive there in a 2012 Call of Duty Special Edition Wrangler. The custom four-wheeler was designed with input from Modern Warfare 3 developers. The development team also helped out with the creation of the new Mountain Dew Game Fuel Tropical flavor. Finally, every package of Doritos you purchase in October will include an offer for Double XP in Modern Warfare 3.
All of these products will be available after the game’s November 8th launch. But I gotta wonder, where’s the Call of Duty-branded guns?

Three Persona titles on the horizon including P4 Vita, Persona 5 and a fighter
Atlus is set to shower us with more Persona love and will be porting Persona 4 to the PlayStation Vita as “Persona 4: The Golden“. This remake will contain a host of new features including a new character, a new opening sequence with new music from Shouji Meguro, and more voice work than the original PS2 version.
Atlus has also announced that it will release a 2D fighting game called Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. And though its title says “Persona 4”, it will also feature characters from Persona 3. This student/persona brawl will be the product of a partnership between Atlus and Arc System Works, the makers of fighting games such as the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear series. Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is scheduled for a Summer 2012 release (in Japan) on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Persona 5 has also been teased and some details, such as the game’s staff, have been revealed. The regular team, including Director Katsura Hashino and composer Shouji Meguro,is returning, but no other details (including which systems it’ll land on) have been mentioned. I’m personally hoping that it’ll come to PS3 and expand on the magic I felt from stumbling around drunkenly in a bar.

Rock out with Johnson and the Shadows of the Damned soundtrack
Shadows of the Damned was a unique game to say the least. It was chock full of memorable characters and weapons. I quite enjoyed the demon harmonica player. But the most striking thing about the game was that it eschewed the expected heavy metal soundtrack in favor of a more haunting and melodic blend of nylon string guitar, horns, and reverberating drums.
Now you can experience the music of Shadows of the Damned in a brand new way with the release of its stellar soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka. He set out to do something a little bit different with the release of this album.
“I wanted to craft a soundtrack that was more than just a collection of the most popular songs from Damned. I set out to create an experience that would take players back to the game, as if they were ‘watching’ a movie,” Yamaoka said.
The music certainly does bring back the macabre atmosphere of the game. All you have to do is close your eyes and you can watch the whole story unfold once again. The famous rock band The Damned even make an appearance on the album. How appropriate.
You can purcahse the Shadows of the Damned soundtrack now at the Grasshopper Manufacture WebStore. But you better hurry, it’s limited to 1,000 copies.

Check out this Call of Duty XP 2011 Walkthrough with Robert Bowling
Infinity Ward is going all out to make the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 the biggest ever for the franchise. For those lucky few getting a hands-on look at the game at the Call of Duty XP event, you will get to enjoy some awesome perks. If the CoD XP event is just beyond your grasp, check out this behind the scenes look at all the mayhen with Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling.
In addition to being able to play in a MW3 multiplayer tournament, Bowling walks his audience through several life-size recreations of classic Modern Warfare 2 levels. You can even shoot your way through them… with a paintball gun, of course. I don’t think it would be wise to give a bunch of twitchy FPS enthusiasts real guns while they’re on their favorite killing field. Stepping onto the recreated Burger Town, The Pit (where you can race for the best time), and the Scrapyard (where teams will go at it flinging bits of paint at one another), someone is sure to scream “BOOM. HEADSHOT!”

Launch trailer for Driver: San Francisco has more awesome chase scenes
My prayers to the French cinematic god Luc Besson have been answered. OK… maybe they haven’t, but Ubisoft is still happy to appease my desperate need to be The Transporter. Driver: San Francisco is out today in the UK! We here in the states still have to wait a few days, sadly. Check out this pulse-pounding launch trailer to see if you want to get in on the action.
InFamous 2: Festival of Blood “Witness the Resurrection” teaser
Of all games to catch the vampire plague, InFamous 2 was not one that I was expecting. But, from the looks of this teaser trailer, it looks like it will be an interesting addition to the Infamous universe. Out just in time for Halloween, Festival of Blood will have you shocking your way through some fanged foes and pimping ’round the streets of a very creepy New Marais.
