Sega delays Shinobi and Crush3D for 3DS
What’s up with all the 3DS release date changing today? I don’t know, but Sega has jumped into the fray. Both Shinobi and Crush 3D for the Nintendo 3DS are being delayed. Shinobi, which was supposed to come out in September, will see store shelves on November 15. Crush 3D, also supposed to be out in September, will instead come out on February 21 next year. GamesIndustry.biz claims a sales perspective drove the decision, with one developer stating, “We had to delay the release of [Crush 3D] because of the success of the platform.”
Iwata recently blamed the less-than-expected sales of the 3DS on a weak launch lineup and the witch hunts alleging health problems. Let’s hope no more anticipated titles suffer from the lack of excitement for the handheld.
Pokemon Rumble Blast toying with your 3DS October 24
Well, that was fast. Pokemon Rumble Blast, the sequel to the excellent WiiWare hit Pokemon Rumble, will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS on October 24. The game features the same intuitive controls and real-time gameplay as its predecessor, as you control toy pokemon scouring a variety of levels and eventually fighting a boss, a giant toy pokemon. Multiplayer features include both local wireless and StreetPass. Passing by a fellow rumbler will allow you to battle their toy pokemon as well as check out their Mii.
When one door closes, another one opens for the 3DS it would seem, let’s hope this game is as addictive as the original Rumble.

Capcom cancels Mega Man Legends 3
Megafans have been clamoring for Mega Man Legends 3 for a long time, but that hasn’t stopped Capcom from canceling the game. In a post on the Capcom-Unity blog, the publisher revealed that “different sectors of the company […] felt that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project [did not meet] the required criteria” to go into full production. The downloadable Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version has also been canceled.
While I understand that games get canceled all the time, Capcom’s decision to solicit feedback from fans during the project’s development makes the cancellation feel like a slap in the face.
Finally, Capcom wanted gamers to know that Kenji Inafune’s departure from the company had nothing to do with the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. I have a feeling few Mega Man fans believe that.

Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition grapples for shelf space
On this week’s podcast, we briefly touch upon limited and collector’s editions, which, of course, brought us to Batman: Arkham Asylum‘s legendary bundle that came with a life size batarang (which you can’t throw at your cat). Unfortunately, there won’t be a drivable Batmobile with the upcoming Arkham City, but it’s an appealing collector’s edition nonetheless. For $99, you’ll get the game (wow!), a custom Batman statue from Kotobukiya, an art book, early access to the Iceberg Lounge challenge map, a skin from the iconic The Dark Knight Returns, a digital copy of the soundtrack, the original animated movie Batman: Gotham Knight, and four collectible cards.
That’s actually a great deal of content for your money, and certainly won’t take up as much space as some other WB Games collector’s editions.

Daily Scoop: Tuesday, July 19 – BioShock day!
What I mean by BioShock day is that today heralds the release of the prequel novel, BioShock: Rapture! I’m hoping it’s a good one. It’ll be my first ever video game novel! I’ve wanted to start reading them for a while now, but I just never had the time. This one looks too good to pass up!
The Internet has some good deals for us today! Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games is Aksys’ Record of Agarest War for the Xbox 360, on sale today at half price for $24.99. Also of note is the big Target sale on video games, which has a slew of games marked down to $27 (like Disney’s Epic Mickey), some marked down to $37 (like Child of Eden), and some at the seemingly random price of $37.99 (OK, just Duke Nukem Forever and both versions of L.A. Noire). Whew! Savings, savings, savings.

4th Mortal Kombat DLC character, MK Legacy episode 9 to be revealed at Comic-Con
In addition to the final episode of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy webseries, NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that the fourth downloadable character for Mortal Kombat will be unveiled at this weekend’s Comic-Con.
Both reveals will occur after a Mortal Kombat tournament that’ll be held at the Westfield Horton Plaza Gamestop on Thursday, July 21 at 7 PM.
The final DLC character will be priced at $5, just like Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain before him/her.

Supergiant narrates Bastion’s XBLA launch tomorrow
Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade promotion on the Xbox Live Arcade is finally here and Supergiant Games’ Bastion is up first. The action RPG looks very reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda and the Warp Zoned staff loved it at this year’s PAX East. If Bastion is new to you, you can check out the launch trailer above to get a taste of the game’s constant narration or there’s a description right here:

Sega plans to unveil something new at Comic-Con
Are you going to be in San Diego this weekend for Comic-Con? If so, you’ll have a chance to witness the announcement of Sega’s latest game. No details about the mystery game were revealed, however, a playable demo will be available.
Speaking of playable demos, the publisher also revealed that they plan to set up a portable arcade in San Diego to showcase more of their upcoming releases. The “Sega Pop-Up Arcade” will be located at 345 6th Avenue (between K Street and J Street) and it’ll be open from Wednesday, July 20 all the way through to the end of the show on Sunday, July 24. Best of all: no quarters required!
