Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale coming May 25 on PC/XBLA, May 31 on PSN

The latest in the influential line of Dungeons & Dragons video games has gone gold and will be available for purchase in the coming days. Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale will be available at retail for PC and for download on Xbox Live Arcade on May 25. The PlayStation Network will get the game a few days later, on May 31.

Daggerdale has players looking to save the default campaign setting, the Nentir Vale, from the impending invasion from the evil Rezlus. Sporting single player and co-op for up to four players, Daggerdale brings an action-packed RPG adventure through the current 4th Edition ruleset.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin finally coming to America on PSP this fall

The Persona series has built a strong cult following in the West over the last several years, and its fans will finally get a chance to play the one chapter that never made it to the United States. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin will be releasing on the PSP in North America this coming fall. Over 12 years in the making, Innocent Sin aims to have all the features of a great PSP remake – enhanced visuals, 16:9 widescreen, new interface, original sidequests, and an optional remastered soundtrack. No word yet on the typically awesome special editions Atlus is famous for, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Persona 2 is credited as where the franchise found its own identity and distinguished itself from its parent meta series. Although the second part of the installment, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, was quickly localized after its Japanese release, this first chapter unfortunately never made it.

Hell freezes: Duke Nukem Forever has actually gone gold

No more delays, Duke Nukem Forever is finally being printed on discs and making its way to retailers for its June 14 launch date on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The 14-year development history of the game itself across four development studios has been an odyssey in itself, and this no doubt marks a monumental day for gaming. Original Creative Director at 3D Realms, George Broussard, had these inspiring words to share:

Duke Nukem Forever and its journey to store shelves is legendary. It’s an epic tale of four game development studios that banded together and did the unthinkable and shipped the unshippable. When you play this game you will be reminded of that epic journey at every turn and in every small detail of the game. Dragon Age III is looking for environment artists

So the announcement that Dragon Age III is in development isn’t exactly shocking, but it is good to see that BioWare is starting to work on the game. The company’s Senior Director of Creative Development, Alistair McNally, recently tweeted that he’s looking for environment artists:

I’m looking for exceptional environment artists to join me at #BioWare Edmonton, Canada to work on #DragonAge3 #gamejobs #jobs #3D #artists

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 revealed in first full-length trailer

As promised, Activision and Infinity Ward have unveiled the first full-length trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The trailer confirms the game’s November 8th release date and shows World War III raging across America, England, France and Germany.

It is, in a word, epic. We’ll no doubt learn more about the third Modern Warfare game at E3.

Double Fine discusses Trenched in developer diary

We haven’t heard much about Trenched since it was announced back in March. Today, Double Fine broke their silence about the alternate history World War I game in the developer diary seen above.

Sharing a virtual beer with the viewer, Project Lead Brad Muir and several other members of the Trenched team discuss the Xbox Live Arcade game’s origins and their hopes for its future.

Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection Review: The Rose Tint is (Slowly) Fading

Final Fantasy IV is probably going for a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for most ports and iterations. After debuting on the Super Nintendo, it’s been ported to the PlayStation, updated for the Game Boy Advance, remade for the Nintendo DS, and now bundled with Final Fantasy IV: The After Years alongside a new Interlude to form Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection. A tour de force in nostalgia as well as a series of fun episodes, The Complete Collection is a great item for collectors and FF fans, but not necessarily a “must-have” PSP title. (more…)

Daily Scoop: May 23, 2011 – GameLoop Philly is over!

GameLoop Philly was this past Saturday, and it was a blast! Lots of local game developers got together to talk shop about development as well as the local Philadelphia scene. Check out our podcast later this week for more information on it!

Not really a lot going on today – Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games today is the Rock Band 3 Midi PRO-Adapter by MadCatz for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. It’s just $25 today down from $39.99, so grab it up!
