Daily Scoop: September 27, 2013 – Death Road to Canada
Hey everyone! It’s a gorgeous Friday, and a reminder that the weekend starts in just a few short hours. Speaking of reminders, you only have two more hours to back Death Road to Canada on Kickstarter! And if you’re one of those people who hates kicking video games because of the long wait, I have good news for you: it’s coming out in November! That’s so close!
Already kicked the game? Then take some time to go check out our interview with Kepa Auwae, the Lead Designer at Rocketcat Games. Or, you know. Just add more money to your pledge. Whichever! (You know you need a kitten that will eat all of your food.)
If you want to check out the new Beyond: Two Souls demo, you’re going to have to go to GameStop’s Facebook page and sign up. It’s first come, first served, but there might be a few codes left. I strongly suggest you check it out!
Other than that, all I’ve got are t-shirts! (more…)

Watch all ten episodes of Mortal Kombat: Legacy II right now
When Mortal Kombat: Legacy was lighting up web browsers everywhere in the run-up to Mortal Kombat‘s launch, new episodes were doled out on a weekly schedule. And the final episode was subjected to a multi-month delay and we didn’t get to see it until the Summer.
That is definitely not the case when it comes to Mortal Kombat: Legacy II.
Today, director Kevin Tancharoen and Warner Digital uploaded every episode of the adaptation’s second season. So you can watch the first episode (which we’ve embedded above) and let it sink in or you can watch the whole thing in one sitting at Machinima’s YouTube Channel.
Hooray for binge viewing!

Daily Scoop: September 26, 2013 – Gotta Hatch ‘Em All
I didn’t think I could be more excited about Pokemon X and Y, but that changed this morning when I visited Serebii.net. They made two announcements yesterday – one was a new Pokemon, a cool-looking Steel/Ghost type named Doublade. But the amazing news is this gorgeous gold 3DS XL which comes pre-loaded with X or Y, unlike the other 3DS XL that came out last week (which we will never speak of again because who releases a special 3DS without the darn game?).
The sad news is that this 3DS XL will only be available at Pokemon Centers in Japan and on Amazon, which I’m assuming means Amazon.jp, which makes me a sad panda. Oh well – I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
There’s a new Humble Bundle available right now – it’s the Humble Mobile Bundle 2, which includes Star Command, Time Surfer, and Punch Quest. Scoop it up!
Again, I’ve got tons of great shirts for you! (more…)

Need For Speed movie trailer is like an artsy Fast and the Furious
Need For Speed, a film adaptation of the long-running game series will be the home of Aaron Paul’s first post-Breaking Bad role. The first trailer has been released and it looks less like a video game adaptation and more like an artier version of Fast and the Furious, complete with a dramatic voiceover and a operatic score. Also, no one says “Bitch!” or makes a “speed = meth” joke. Priorities, people!
The Need For Speed movie will make its theatrical debut in March 2014.
Daily Scoop: September 25, 2013 – BioShock Deals
Good morning – and what a beautiful morning it is here in Philadelphia! This fall has started off beautifully. I love spending cool evenings playing video games, huddled up with a blanket and some warm snacks. What could be better?
There are a few good deals over at Amazon today. You can get Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan for $27.72, and quite a few Xbox 360 consoles are on sale. The Xbox 360 250GB Spring Value Bundle, Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect Nike+ Bundle, Xbox 360 E 4GB Console with Kinect Sensor, and Xbox 360 E 250GB Console are all $249, and each one comes with $50 in promotional credit as well. That’s some serious incentive!
They’re also having some amazing deals on the BioShock series as well. The PC downloads are super cheap, starting with the BioShock Triple Pack for $19.99. If you’ve already got the third game and just want the first two, then pick up the BioShock Dual Pack for $4.99. If you just need individual ones, BioShock and BioShock 2 are $9.99, while BioShock Infinite is $19.99.
Finally, if you’re looking for a sweet deal on indie games, head on over to GOG.com’s Super 5 Promo, which includes VVVVVV – worth it for the $5 alone. And seriously, don’t forget about Humble Bundle 9, which ends today!
Time for some great t-shirts to tempt your wallet! (more…)

Three volume Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack now available on iTunes
Rockstar doesn’t do anything small. Everything has be big. The biggest thing ever if possible. And so it goes with the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack, The Music of Grand Theft Auto V. The soundtrack is now available on iTunes, as a three volume attack of music (priced at $24.99) or as three distinct albums.
Volume 1: Original Music is a collection of songs created exclusively for Grand Theft Auto V. The album also includes The Chain Gang of 1974’s “Sleepwalking,” which was featured in GTA5’s “Official Trailer.”
Volume 2: The Score takes GTA5’s original score (a first for the series) and arranges it into a complete album mixed by DJ Shadow. Rockstar’s Woody Jackson worked with Tangerine Dream, and acclaimed producers The Alchemist and Oh No to produce the score.
Finally, Volume 3: The Soundtrack is a collection of previously released music that was played on GTA5’s in-game radio stations.
Complete tracklists for all three albums are available after the break. (more…)

Daily Scoop: September 24, 2013 – The Scoop Returns
Hello, friends! It’s been quite some time since I’ve written a scoop – mostly because of the insanity that was PAX Prime. Life has been so busy it’s been hard to get my bearings! But I’m here to tell you, first and foremost, about the Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day – it’s Saints Row IV! You can save 30% on all of the different versions, including the Wub Wub edition, bringing it down to $70 from $100. I just might use this as an excuse to pick it up! There are lots of other Lightning Deals happening today as well, so keep refreshing that page for more discounted games.
Also, in case you didn’t know about it, you’ve got one day left to pick up the amazing Humble Bundle happening now. Pay what you want for amazing games like Mark of the Ninja and Trine 2, and pay more than the average to get Faster Than Light and Fez, among others. Even if you’re like me and already own most of them, it’s worth the $5 to pick up the ones you’re missing.
If you love video game music as much as I do, you’ll definitely want to check out World 1-2: The Complete Collection, which has even more amazing music than the original. And instead of just being available digitally, you can order a physical CD with lots of awesome artwork. This one is worth picking up!
Other than that, there are a million great shirts up for sale today! (more…)

Mortal Kombat: Legacy II will begin on September 26
After missing its promised Spring 2013 release date, the first episode of Kevin Tancharoen’s Mortal Kombat: Legacy II will be available to watch through Machinima’s YouTube Channel on September 26.
The second season of the popular webseries has moved beyond the origin stories of Mortal Kombat: Legacy and into the tournament itself. If this trailer is any indication, the new season will be bigger and bolder than the one that came before.
And seeing Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa reprise his role as Shang Tsung and repeat his most famous line (“It has begun!”) just about made my day.
