Daily Scoop: November 8, 2012 – Mega Pals

Hello there, friends! You’re going to be sad and disappointed again today when I reveal that I don’t have any new deals to share with you. I’m sure most of you are playing the Mass Effect Trilogy, or Halo 4, or LittleBigPlanet Karting, or you’re just grinding your prestige levels to dust in older Call of Duty games as you prepare for Black Ops II. You don’t even NEED deals, amirite?

Well, in case you do, you should check out the clearance games at Amazon. Dungeon Siege III is under $14, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is under $22, and, well, this Wii Soft Football is a weird looking thing and you should look at it.

But here’s the real reason you love me: the shirts I find! (more…)

Daily Scoop: November 7, 2012 – Another storm

Just another stormy day in this freezing fall! But at least that election is over with, am I right? Now we can all get back to playing video games and not using the television to watch politics. I feel dirty just saying that!

There aren’t too many deals going on. It looks like most of the major outlets are gearing up for Black Friday, that gluttonous day where everyone seems to inhale electronics like they inhaled stuffing the day before. Bring on your sales! I don’t fear you! I simply hide my wallet that day.

Several awesome t-shirts for you today! Let’s go in order from my least favorite to my most favorite, shall we? (more…)

Obama and Romney fight to the death in Political Kombat ’12

Political Kombat ’12, Slate’s series of videos depicting the battles between the candidates as one-on-one fights to the death, has been a ridicuously awesome success. Watching Romney lay waste to the rest of the Republican pretenders while Obama performs the long form fatality on Donald Trump is just good YouTube time.

But now we’re up to the main event… President Barack Obama versus Mitt Romney. This is the ultimate battle and only one can survive. So be sure to vote for your candidate at the end of the video and in the real election on Tuesday, November 6.

Political Kombat ’12 was clearly created by someone with a deep affinity for the fighting genre and it shows in every special attack. Direct references to Mortal Kombat and Marvel vs Capcom litter the entire series. And when… SPOILER ALERT… George Washington showed up as Shao Kahn, I nearly lost it.

Good show Slate.

Daily Scoop: November 2, 2012 – Let the games begin!

It’s Friday of an already short week, and the gamers here at Warp Zoned are excited to get started on our gaming weekend. I’m likely going to play some more Borderlands 2, but I’m also really excited about this spooky Sleeping Dogs DLC. Oh, and since I promised, here’s a photo of my boyfriend and me as the Venture Bros. Go team Venture!

As far as game deals go, Amazon’s got the digital download of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition for just $19.90. If you loved Demon’s Souls, you won’t want to miss this game.

And finally, what you’ve all been waiting for: today’s t-shirts! (more…)

Final episode of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn now available

The fifth, and final, episode of the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn webseries is here. All that’s left is to watch as Lasky and the Master Chief go toe-to-toe with the Covenant. Will they make it out alive? Since Forward Unto Dawn is a prequel, that’s a big yes. But it’s still fun to watch.

If you missed any part of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, head over to our hub page for the webseries and catch up on the previous episodes. And don’t forget, Halo 4 launches for the Xbox 360 on November 6.

Daily Scoop: November 1, 2012 – After the Rain

Hurricane Sandy sure left the East Coast in a daze. Philadelphia didn’t get too much damage – a few downed trees here and there – but all in all, we’re OK. My boyfriend and I had two days off, so we just played a boatload of Borderlands 2, watched some Venture Bros, and did some cleaning. It was pretty fantastic.

Oh, and speaking of Venture Bros, we were Hank and Dean for Halloween – pictures forthcoming.

Not a lot of deals going on today. There are some pre-order bonuses being advertised at Amazon, like Raul Mendez’s backstory and the new Nuketown map when you pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops II, or the customizable “Web” armor skin for Halo 4. Oh, and they’re also having a $50 sale on select Xbox 360 consoles, including the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 4 bundle. Scoop ’em up!

There are a couple of good t-shirts out there: (more…)

Daily Scoop: October 29, 2012 – Sandy vs. the East Coast

It’s been an exciting time here on the East Coast these last few days! Hurricane Sandy is here, and tonight, we’ll be getting the worst of her. In preparation, most places of business in the city of Philadelphia are closed, as is the public transportation system. My boyfriend and I decided to stay in and just play more Borderlands 2 all day. I’m a little nervous about the worst of this hurricane and what it’s going to do (which should happen in about 8 hours or so), but for the most part, it’s been a much-needed day of rest and relaxation. My cats are happy we’re home, too.

Not really many deals going on as far as I can see. Amazon’s still running some sweet Halloween Deals, so if you want some scary games, or just some recent games that are discounted, check it out. Other than that, there’s not much happening. Oh, except the new DLC for Sleeping Dogs is out tomorrow. That’s what I’m saving my dollars for!

Three sweet gaming shirts today, though one is a reprint! (more…)

Wreck-It Ralph Review: The Movie You’ve Been Waiting For

If you’re anything like me, you were smitten with Wreck-It Ralph when you saw its trailer for the first time. A Disney movie about a fictional video game, featuring characters from beloved games of our youth, made in an adorable style, with an amazing cast of voices? It was like a dream come true. Each additional trailer and a fantastic series of posters hyped me up more and more, and gave me butterflies in my stomach. And, as I found out in a special early screening of the movie, gaming has gone so mainstream that gamers are in for an awesome treat with Wreck-It Ralph. (more…)
