Daily Scoop: April 16, 2012 – Summer’s here!
Summer has arrived early here in Philadelphia! I’m trying not to melt today as the degrees continue to rise. Though it will be hotter than this in hell, which is where I’m going after the three games I played this weekend of Cards Against Humanity. They aren’t kidding when they say it’s a party game for horrible people.
There are some new deals at Amazon today, both on Sony products. First up is Aksys’ Fate/Extra Limited Edition, which is on sale for $27.99. Then there’s 33% off Twisted Metal, bringing it down to $39.99. If you’ve been waiting to join Sweet Tooth, now’s the time!
One particularly amazing gaming shirt today… so amazing I really, REALLY want to buy it… (more…)

Zelda: The Musical brings down the pixelated house
Have you ever wondered what The Legend of Zelda would look like as a lavish Broadway musical? If so, then this video isn’t for you.
But if you’ve ever wondered what pixelated versions of Link, Zelda, Ganon, and Malon singing their hearts out would be like, then this video is definitely for you.
Daily Scoop: April 13, 2012 – Friday the 13th!
Not even the fact that it’s Friday the 13th can get me down today! Because no matter what the date, it’s Friday, and that means weekend! Yes, I did spend an hour in Staples last night printing out a copy of Cards Against Humanity to play tonight with my boyfriend and our friends. And yes, I did just get a beta key for Diablo III, which I will be playing every free moment. And yes, I do have D&D tomorrow. Weekend GO!
No deals today, but I did stumble upon Amazon’s Retro Gaming Store, which was definitely made by someone with a sense of humor! It says “All your base are belong to us” at the top, and has games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, and more. At the bottom, it’s got a section for the bestselling chiptune MP3 albums, including two of my favorites, Anamanaguchi and ComputeHer. It’s like they raided my brain to make this page!
No gaming shirts today, but there are two worth mentioning! (more…)

Daily Scoop: April 12, 2012 – Post-PAX depression!
Well, PAX East has come and gone, and it’s taken me this long to realize it’s already over. I usually cry at the closing ceremonies, but I missed them this year, so I guess I didn’t really get the closure I needed. I was riding a wave of happiness the whole way home from Boston! But now it’s dawning on me that it won’t be back for another year. Sigh…
Not really much in the way of deals today. If you want to start thinking about the future, Amazon’s pre-order and new release bonus offers can be pretty darn tempting. They’ve got a $10 credit and a bonus for Borderlands 2, an awesome art book for Game of Thrones, and a special skin in Lollipop Chainsaw, among others. I’m still holding out for the Borderlands 2 collectors edition, which is going to destroy my bank!
Lots of gaming t-shirts for you today! (more…)

Daily Scoop: April 9, 2012 – Post-PAX East edition!
Hello, Daily Scoop followers! I have been absent for quite a while, but today I am back and ready to bring you the best in deals and gaming t-shirts! S get ready your clicking hand and pull out your credit card, because you might not be able to turn these down today.
First and foremost, this weekend was a very exciting one for the Warp Zoned staff. John Scalzo, WZ’s Editor-In-Chief, and I finally got to meet in person at PAX East! We had a blast playing games, conducting interviews, and running around the expo hall. We’re recovering now, but we’ll be posting a lot of articles this week, so be on the lookout! Spoiler alert: we weren’t disappointed by what we saw, and we don’t think you will be, either.
As far as deals go, Amazon’s got some good ones:
- Save $40 on the HORI Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Arcade Stick for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
- Get Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for $39.99 on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360
- Save 40% on this PlayStation 3D display, bringing it down to $299.99
- Get Final Fantasy XIII-2 for $29.99 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
I also poked around Amazon’s video game clearance sale, but the only game I found worth purchasing was Sushi Go Round for the DS, which is just $9.24. I’m serious when I say you should scoop that one up immediately!
Just one game-related t-shirt today, but it’s certainly a must-buy for me! (more…)
This is reason #20XX why Capcom should make a Mega Man movie
Fans have been clamoring for Capcom to officially sanction a Mega Man movie for years. In that time, we’ve seen a bevy of fan films and even one Hong Kong action film that unofficially took its inspiration from the Blue Bomber. Olan Rogers’ new mini-movie, “Mega Man X,” blows away everything in the former list and its effects even look better than the latter.
The beginning part of the video is a message Dr.Light records over 100 years ago, his lab is now abandoned. As the camera moves into the capsule you see a still running testing parameter where Mega Man X fights a hologram or drone in the form of Proto Man.
The most amazing thing is that this fan film was made for only $700. That’s just unbelievable! Capcom will make a Mega Man movie someday, but if they were smart, they’d hire Olan Rogers to direct it.
Daily Scoop: March 29, 2012 – Today’s my Friday
I have tomorrow off! Which means today is my Friday. So that means tomorrow is sort of like my Saturday junior? Or my extra Saturday? Pre-Saturday? I don’t know, but I’m going to lay around all day and get to know my brand new Vita a little better. This Amazon sale is killing me… I can feel my will power crumbling…
Speaking of Amazon, their Deal of the Day in video games today is EA’s MySims Sky Heroes. This PlayStation 3 game is just $6.99 down from $29.99 today, so you might want to grab it!
As far as gaming t-shirts go, there’s just one today… (more…)
