Daily Scoop: February 20, 2012 – Add some Disgaea to your day!
Well I certainly did do a lot of baking this weekend, and a lot of writing, but not nearly as much video gaming as I wanted. I did go to the movies, and play some Dungeons & Dragons, and watched “The Walking Dead,” of course. And ate lots and lots and lots of food. Yum!
So what’s the big deal for today? I’m happy to say it’s Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games, which is the Premium Edition of Atlus’ Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten. If you’ve never played this series, there’s no better time than now – grab that up for $39.99, and maybe find a cheap deal on the PSP version of Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, and say goodbye to your free time for the next few… months.
There’s also a fantastic video game related shirt today: (more…)

Bowser, Robotnik, Dr. Wily, Zangief to cameo in Wreck-It Ralph
The more I hear about Wreck-It Ralph, the more I like it.
Today’s bit of news comes from Disney’s D23 magazine (scanned by a user at DVDizzy.com) and it’s a doozy. Like the Looney Tunes and Disney cameos in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Wreck-It Ralph will be filled with a similar number of classic game characters.
We already knew that Kano (!) and a Pac-Man ghost would be making an appearance in a “Bad Guy Support Group” scene. But now we’ve learned that Bowser, Dr. Robotnik, Dr. Wily, and Zangief will appear in the scene as well!
There is a very tiny picture of the scene at DVDizzy.com, but it’s definitely them. But while you’re there, check out the D23 article, it’s a good read.
Daily Scoop: February 17, 2012 – Bake-off!
Well, as I promised, I’ve been baking and baking and baking today, interspersed with some reading (Walking Dead is so good), gaming (I heart Final Fantasy XIII-2), and writing. Oh yeah, and some grocery shopping. Exciting, amirite?
There’s a couple of digital deals over at Amazon as their Deal of the Day in video games. They’ve got Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for $4.99, Mass Effect for $4.99, Mass Effect 2 for $4.99, and Mass Effect 2 – Digital Deluxe Edition for $7.49. This is an excellent time to get into the Mass Effect games, seeing as Mass Effect 3 is just around the corner!
No shirts today, folks. Yesterday’s four shirts probably jinxed us for life.

Daily Scoop: February 16, 2012 – Major gaming t-shirt round-up!
It’s Thursday! But I’m off tomorrow (can anyone say The Secret World of Arrietty?) so today is really my Friday. Hooray! I plan on baking, playing more Final Fantasy XIII-2, baking, knitting, baking, doing some laundry, baking, and reading. Oh, and did I mention I’ll be baking? Baking!
Not really all that much in the way of deals today, I’m afraid. The Deal of the Day in video games over at Amazon is the PC download of Trendy Entertainment’s Dungeon Defenders for $2.99 marked down from $14.99. Um, scoop it up, I guess? If you’re into that?
Fortunately, there are plenty of video game shirts today to make up for it! I’ve got a record-breaking four shirts for you today! (more…)

Daily Scoop: February 15, 2012 – Hello, Vita!
Welcome to America, PlayStation Vita! Those of you lucky/rich/insane enough to shell out $350 for the early edition of the Vita are probably at home right now, drooling on their expensive technology. Am I jealous? I certainly am. Do I really wish I’d already done my tax return? I sure do. Will I do it faster because of this? We’ll have to see.
Today’s Deal of the Day in video games over at Amazon is Battlefield 3 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It’s just $39.99 for today only. This is your chance to get the latest in this awesome franchise for 33% off!
Not one, but two great gaming shirts today. Behold! (more…)

Daily Scoop: February 14, 2012 – Thank you Operation Rainfall
They’ve done it. Well, maybe it wasn’t all them, but it sure seems like Operation Rainfall had something to do with the release of Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, and now Pandora’s Tower outside of Japan. That last one is the one I’ve wanted to play the most, so the fact that it’s coming to Europe signifies that it’s just one step closer to my homeland. Please, Nintendo. Please do not make me buy a Wii from another region. I would be sad.
Anyway, it’s Valentine’s Day! And you know what that means. Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games is, of course, Catherine! What else could it be but Atlus’ insane infidelity simulation? The game is just $29.99 today for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and well worth it at this price. Scoop it up!
No gaming shirts today, but this amazing shirt is perfect for geeks on Valentine’s Day! (more…)

Call of Duty: Black Ops voted “Best Ending” by Guinness World Records readers
Did you pass on the Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer’s Edition when it was released back in January? Then you missed their list of the “Top 50 Video Game Endings of All Time” as voted by 13,519 Guinness readers. But apparently this information was just begging to get out as Guinness released the full list over the weekend. And the winner is… [drummmmmmmmmmrollllllllll]… Call of Duty: Black Ops.
OK… sure… why not. But I guess that’s what you get when you award “records” based on a popular vote.
Black Ops was followed by Halo: Reach at number two and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time at number three.
The Guinness people weren’t too clear on what they considered a game’s “ending,” citing the entire final level for Black Ops, the post credits sequence for Halo: Reach, and the boss fight against Ganon for Ocarina of Time. So when you read the entire list (which can be found after the break), be sure to remember that it was about the furthest thing possible from a scientific poll.
Of course, the inclusion of Super Mario Bros. at number 11 (and four Mario games in total) probably tipped you off to that. (more…)
