Disney Interactive officially announces Fall release for Disney Infinity: Star Wars
After being outed by a German retailer last week, Disney Interactive has gone ahead and officially announced Disney Infinity: Star Wars. As expected, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker figures will be included as part of the game’s Starter Pack (which will be priced at $64.99).
The 3.0 Edition of the popular series will once again be developed by Avalanche Software in partnership with Ninja Theory, Sumo Digital, Studio Gobo, and United Front Games. A release date wasn’t announced, but the game should be available for the PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One this Fall. A version of Disney Infinity: Star Wars for mobile devices is also in the works.
Three Star Wars-themed playsets will be released alongside the game, each focusing on a different trilogy. “Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic” (which is included in the Starter Pack) will star Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul in epic battle set in the prequel era. Meanwhile, “Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire” will feature Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader doing the Rebels versus Empire thing. A third playset based on the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also be available sometime this Winter.
A number of non-Star Wars characters will also be part of the main game for the first time including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan, Frozen‘s Olaf, and many others. And an enhanced Toy Box mode will add two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games: “Toy Box Speedway” (kart racing) and “Toy Box Takeover” (action-adventure). Both Toy Box Expansion Games will require the additional purchase of a Disney Infinity Game Piece.
Additional playsets based on Pixar’s Inside Out and the Hulk/Iron Man battle from Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released this Fall as well.
Finally, even more Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars figures and playsets are planned for release next year. But don’t worry, Disney Infinity: Star Wars will be compatible with all figures and Power Discs from Disney Infinity and Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes.
Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Dragonslayer multiplayer expansion is out today; Jaws of Hakkon add-on available to all on May 26

Electronic Arts and BioWare have announced a new multiplayer expansion for Dragon Age: Inquisition will be available to download (for free) on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One today. The Dragonslayer expansion will add three new characters (Skywatcher, Zither the Virtuoso, and Isabela the Raider Queen of the Eastern Seas), a new location, and the opportunity to fight dragons. As part of the expansion, BioWare will also add The Black Emporium, ” four high-level stores which sell epic weapons, powerful accessories, new crafting materials and schematics and other hard-to-find items,” to the game.
More details on the Dragonslayer expansion can be found at the Dragon Age Blog or by watching a special Twitch stream hosted by BioWare, which will begin at 1:00 PM (Eastern Time) today.
In other Dragon Age news, BioWare has confirmed (via Twitter) that Inquisition’s first single-player expansion, Jaws of Hakkon, will be available to download for the PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360 on May 26. PC and Xbox One owners have been able to purchase it since March.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood launch trailer does things the old-fashioned way
Bethesda brilliantly marketed Wolfenstein: The New Order last year. From the outstanding early trailers to a complete soundtrack of German pop hits, the publisher did everything it could to reintroduce players to the world of Wolfenstein. And we responded by making it one of 2014’s biggest hits.
Today, B.J. Blazkowicz is back in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, a standalone prequel now available to download on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Bethesda has once again pulled out all the stops and produced a beautiful launch trailer with an old-timey vibe that doesn’t skimp on the action. That’s on top of yesterday’s gameplay trailer and walkthrough.
I don’t know what’s next for one of gaming’s earliest heroes, but The Old Blood looks like a Nazi-killing good time.

Wolfenstein: Old Blood… New gameplay trailer, walkthrough, hidden Wolf 3D levels revealed
Bethesda plans to release Wolfenstein: The Old Blood for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One tomorrow. In an effort to get everyone excited, the publisher has released a new gameplay trailer, an extended gameplay walkthrough, and the first details on its Wolfenstein 3D homage.
Get reacquainted with B.J. Blazkowicz in the gameplay trailer embedded and watch as he single-handedly dismantles the Nazi army with two pieces of lead pipe. And if you’d prefer a more in-depth look at the game, Bethesda has uploaded an extended hour-long gameplay walkthrough, which is available after the break.
Finally, an interview with Jerk Gustafsson, an Executive Producer at MachineGames, sheds some light on The Old Blood’s expanded “Nightmare Mode,” which recreates the entire first episode of Wolfenstein 3D within the game. Be sure to check out everything Gustafsson has to say at the Bethesda Blog. (more…)

Jason Takes Mortal Kombat X in this new trailer
Four years ago, NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon revealed that Jason Voorhees was considered for the guest characters spot in Mortal Kombat. Ultimately, Freddy Krueger came for Mortal Kombat players, but Boon never forgot about Jason. Beginning this week, Kombat Pack owners will will be able to download the horror icon in Mortal Kombat X.
You can see Jason expertly wield his machete against Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, Sonya Blade, Reptile, and Jax in the trailer above. There’s also a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpse at one of his Fatalities.
If you didn’t spring for the Kombat Pack, the Jason Voorhees Bundle will be available to download on May 12 for $7.99. The bundle also includes the Horror Pack, three horror-themed costumes for Mileena (Vampiress), Reptile (Kraken), and Ermac (Pharaoh). The bundle can also be purchased piecemeal with Jason by himself available for $4.99, while the Horror Pack has been priced at $3.99.
Future downloadable characters planned for Mortal Kombat X include Tanya, Tremor, and The Predator. NetherRealm plans to share more about those three characters at a later date.
WB Games reveals contents of Batman: Arkham Knight’s Season Pass including Batgirl mission
Earlier this week, WB Games announced a Season Pass for Batman: Arkham Knight, but failed to reveal what sorts of content the DLC subscription would contain. This weekend, the publisher decided to rectify that mistake by sharing more details of the Season Pass with the public (via their Official Forum).
The biggest piece of content in the Season Pass is definitely “Batgirl: A Matter of Family,” a story expansion that will allow players to play as Batgirl for the first time. The prequel story will serve as the first of three story expansions, along with the previously mentioned Batmobile Skins, Character Skins, and Challenge Maps. Here’s what else you’ll find in the Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass:
Batgirl: A Matter of Family – An all new prequel story expansion in an entirely new location where you play as Batgirl for the very first time in the Arkham series – check out the first render of Batgirl.
The Season of Infamy – Play as Batman in all new story missions featuring legendary supervillains invading Gotham City, with new story arcs, missions and gameplay features.
Gotham City Stories – Play as Batman’s key allies in narrative missions extending their storylines, from both before and after the events in Batman: Arkham Knight.
Legendary Batmobiles With Themed Tracks – Drive the most iconic Batmobiles from Batman’s 75-year history, on custom-built race tracks, each themed to that Batmobile’s specific era. Every Batmobile will be drivable across every race track.
Crimefighter Challenge Maps – Engage in a series of new challenge maps utilizing the unique play styles of Batman and his allies.
Character Skins – A variety of skins from across the eras for Batman, Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 23. The Season Pass, which has been priced at $39.99, is available to pre-order now.

New Releases: SMT Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker, Project CARS for PC, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, More

This May is going to be rather underwhelming when it comes to the quantity of new video games. But there doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of quality sprinkled in from week-to-week.
For example, Atlus will bring Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker to the 3DS this week. Originally released for the DS in 2012, Record Breaker will add a brand new scenario, the “Triangulum Arc,” to the RPG, as well as new difficulty options and improved controls.
Also available this week is the PC edition of Project CARS, Slightly Mad’s ambitious auto racing simulation. In addition to Oculus Rift and 12K UltraHD monitor support, Project CARS will offer dozens of vehicles and over 100 courses. Project CARS will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One next week.
Getting about as far away from the world of simulators as we can is Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. The downloadable prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One as a standalone game. You can grab this World War II shooter on Tuesday, just a few days ahead of V-E Day.
Finally this week, WB Games and Monolith Productions will release Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor – Game of the Year Edition for the PS4 and Xbox One. This ultimate edition of one of 2014’s best games will include all of the previously downloadable content including both major expansions.
As always, more new releases will be available this week exclusively through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store, Nintendo eShop, and Steam. We’ll keep you updated on those titles as the week goes on.
