Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will star Nolan North and Troy Baker
It sounds like Nolan North and Troy Baker will star in yet another video game as WB Games has announced that the prolific pair will voice the protagonist and antagonist of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Set between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, with an original story written by Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption), Baker will star in Shadow of Mordor as Talion, a Ranger attempting to raise an orc army. He will be challenged by North, who will play his nemesis, the Black Hand. The beginning of their story plays out in the new “Story Trailer” embedded above.
Other actors who will lend their voices to the game include Alastair Duncan as Wraith, Laura Bailey as Ioreth, and Liam O’Brien as Gollum.
Finally, WB Games announced that award-winning composer Garry Schyman will create the music for Shadow of Mordor. Schyman previously composed the score for BioShock Infinite, which won a BAFTA Award for “Best Original Music” earlier this year as well as a D.I.C.E. Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition.”
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is in development for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It is scheduled to be released on October 7.
The Wolf Among Us Episode 4 will be released next week
It looks like things are getting downright hairy for Bigby in a new trailer for the next installment of The Wolf Among Us. Telltale Games has also confirmed they will release the fourth episode of their Fables adaptation, The Wolf Among Us: In Sheep’s Clothing, next week.
In Sheep’s Clothing will be downloadable for the PS3 through the PlayStation Store (North America only) and through PC download services on Tuesday, May 27. An Xbox 360 release is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, and the iOS version will follow a day after that on Thursday, May 29. Telltale has promised that they will have release date information for PS3 owners in Europe very soon.
Has the Wolf met his match? Beaten and bloody, Bigby is confronted by the realization that a society built on secrets is ripe for exploitation. And that the disenfranchised of Fabletown may see his prey not as the cause of their problems, but as their solution. Constantly caught between ‘the rules’ and doing the right thing, Bigby must tread a path fraught with danger in this penultimate episode of The Wolf Among Us.
In Sheep’s Clothing will be priced at $4.99 on each platform. And as always, it can also be accessed as part of The Wolf Among Us Season Pass.
Ubisoft @ E3 14: Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, The Division, The Crew, more

Ubisoft has announced their E3 2014 plans and it includes a lot of games we already knew about including Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, Tom Clancy’s The Division, The Crew, and Valiant Hearts: The Great War. The megapublisher plans to announce a few additional titles during E3 Media Briefing, which will be held on Monday, June 9 at 6:00 PM (Eastern Time). Once again, Ubisoft’s presentation will be hosted by actress (and professional awesome person) Aisha Tyler and will be broadcast live on their YouTube Channel.
So what else will Ubisoft be announcing at this year’s E3 Expo? I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Blood Dragon 2 or the oft-rumored Assassin’s Creed: Comet, and you know a Watch Dogs sequel is in development somewhere within Ubisoft’s many development houses, but that probably won’t be an E3 2014 announcement.
You can find more information on Ubisoft’s E3 lineup after the break. (more…)

Deep Silver confirms Summer release for Metro Redux
After teasing Metro Redux back in March, Deep Silver and 4A Games are ready to officially announce that the compilation will come to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this Summer. Priced at $49.99, the compilation pack will include enhanced remakes of Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, and all of Last Light’s downloadable content. Metro 2033 has received the bulk of the enhancements including redone graphics and gameplay using the more advanced Last Light engine and “radically improved gameplay” such as…
- Advanced enemy AI
- Improved combat and stealth mechanics
- Superior weapon handling
- More responsive, intuitive controls
- Weapon customization
- Silent kills and take-downs
The complete “Redux” overhaul will also extend to each game’s unique play style. Players can now play through both campaigns using 2033’s “Survival Play Style” (a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds) or Last Light’s more action-oriented “Spartan Play Style” (more powerful weapons and more plentiful resources).
Finally, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light will both be available as individual downloads through PC download services, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Live Game Store. Each game will be sold separately for $24.99 each.

Evolve tracks down an October 21 release date

2K Games has announced that Turtle Rock’s “4v1” shooter, Evolve, will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 21. Evolve will also be on display at this year’s E3 Expo, so we’ll surely hear more about Turtle Rock’s Left 4 Dead followup next month. But if you’d rather not wait that long, Polygon has published a new report four more characters who will challenge the Monsters this October.
Evolve’s previously released promotional material (including the PAX East demo) always featured the same four Hunters: Markov (Assault), Hank (Support), Griffin (Trapper), and Val (Medic). The new set of characters will slot into the same classes, but with different weaponry and personalities…
- Hyde is an Assault character with a minigun, a flamethrower, and an eye patch.
- Bucket is a robotic Support character who can remove his own head and use it as a drone to pinpoint the Monster’s position.
- Maggie is a Trapper who hunts with Daisy, an alien beast that Maggie has tamed as a pet. Daisy can sniff out the Monster and even heal other players like a rescue dog (little barrel not included).
- Finally, Lazarus is a Medic with a sniper rifle and an invisibility cloak.
It’s unknown how many different characters will make the final cut for Evolve, but Turtle Rock has promised that more will be revealed soon.
New Batman: Arkham Knight trailer lives in fear of Scarecrow
WB Games has released a new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, which lays out the game’s storyline in a way that I don’t think we’ve heard before. Scarecrow is using a new version of his fear toxin to blackmail the people of Gotham into leaving. As further incentive, he has recruited some of Batman’s greatest enemies (including The Penguin and Two-Face) to overrun the city with criminals. Batman, naturally, doesn’t take too kindly to this threat…
And that’s when Arkham Knight, a villain created specifically for this game by Rocksteady, shows up. Any bets on his “real” identity… A somehow still-alive Joker? Jason Todd? Azrael? Someone else entirely?
We’ll find out later this year when Batman: Arkham Knight is released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Wasteland 2 will be released in August
InXile Entertainment posted a massive Kickstarter update today about Wasteland 2. The most important part of the update was that the game will be available in just a few months, at the end of August of this year.
That’s not all they’ve updated – they also made a massive update to the beta. “This update adds the final major area of Arizona, meaning the Wasteland 2 beta now includes all Arizona maps, which is approximately half the entire game!” You can get early access now through Steam, even if you weren’t a Kickstarter backer.
Wasteland 2, sequel to Wasteland and predecessor to the Fallout series, made $2,933,252 (more than three times their goal) on Kickstarter back in April of 2012. Check out more details at Kickstarter or on Steam, or just wait until the full game releases in August.

Gauntlet reboot needs release date badly… it’s September 3

WB Games and Arrowhead Game Studios have announced that their reboot of Gauntlet will be available for the PC on September 3.
Priced at $19.99, players who pre-purchase the game now through Steam will receive some terrifying equipment for the Warrior (an axe known as Azkog the Demon Slayer and the Reaper’s Visage Helm) as well a digital comic book, Gauntlet: Darkness Calls, on the game’s release date. Produced by DC Comics, Darkness Calls will tell the story of the “origins of Gauntlet’s most vile master.”
The Gauntlet reboot will include local and online multiplayer play in addition to controller support and the ability to play the game via Steam’s Big Picture Mode.
