Mad Max gameplay trailer asks “What is the Soul of a Man?”
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Studios have released the first gameplay trailer for their game adaptation of Mad Max. If you look real close, you can certainly see a few moments of pure gameplay, but the trailer is just as heavy with cinematic cutscenes and views of the ominous Wasteland. Still pretty impressive, though.
Mad Max is due out sometime in 2014 for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! getting Oculus Rift support
AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! For the Awesome (sometimes shortened to Aaaaa!) is truly one of the greatest titles for a video game ever conceived. And the first-person BASE jumping sim has also been pretty well received among PC gaming enthusiasts. So naturally, the next step was to marry first-person BASE jumping with the virtual reality possibilities of an Oculus Rift headset.
AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! indeed.
Developer Owlchemy Labs is currently working on the Oculus update for Aaaaa! and plans to make it available on Steam soon. How real does the Oculus Rift make the BASE jumping of AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!!? Very real:
Here at Owlchemy Labs HQ, we’ve engaged in numerous play-tests in our secret Owl Cave and we can easily say (with confidence) that this is one of the most absurdly amazing gaming experiences to date! The all-encompassing sense of free-fall is so intense, the feeling of blasting past buildings for points so real, our very own play-testers have been known to duck their heads, in real life, when large objects scream past their face.
A few screenshots of the Oculus Rift version of AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! can be found at the Owlchemy Labs’ official website.
DuckTales Remastered woo-hoos its way to PC, PS3, Wii U on August 13
Ever since DuckTales Remastered was announced at this year’s PAX East, I’ve been waiting patiently to refill Scrooge’s magnificent Money Bin with treasure. Today, Capcom announced the game’s official release date, so I won’t be waiting much longer.
DuckTales Remastered will be available to download through Steam, the PlayStation Network, and the Wii U eShop on August 13. A special PS3 retail edition, which includes a PSN download code and a collector’s pin, will be released on August 20. The Xbox Live Arcade version will follow a month later on September 11. All four downloadable versions have been priced at $14.99, while the retail version will carry a $19.99 price tag.
Finally, developer WayForward has released the first “Duckumentary” behind-the-scenes video detailing how the background designers took the original artwork and gave it a “Remastered” look and feel.
Monaco Review: What’s Yours Is Mine… But Not If I Go Alone

Monaco is an indie game by Pocketwatch Games, in which you and your fellow professional criminals spend some quality time together breaking out of – and into – various facilities. The game is top-down and done in simple graphics, with large pixelated characters and backgrounds. You can choose to take on each mission alone, choosing which character you want to play as, or team up with up to three other people, each of whom can play someone different. The multiplayer aspects of the game are a complete blast, but taking on the game solo can be a frustrating affair. (more…)
Get a first look at Rambo: The Video Game, available this Winter in Europe
In the works for two years, Reef Entertainment has released the first trailer for Rambo: The Video Game today. The game is a first-person retelling of the first three Rambo films: First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, and Rambo III.
Using their dialogue from the films, Rambo will feature the voice talents of Sylvester Stallone and the late Richard Crenna. It’ll be available this Winter in Europe for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Hopefully, an American release will happen around the same time.
CoD: Black Ops II’s Vengeance Map Pack coming to PC, PS3 on August 1
After a rousing debut on the Xbox Live Marketplace last week, the latest DLC expansion for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Vengeance, now has a PC and PS3 release date. The map pack will be available on PC download services and the PlayStation Store on August 1. Season Pass subscribers will receive the content for free while the rest of us will have to pay the regular going rate for CoD map packs: $14.99.
The Vengeance Map Pack will include the following new maps:
- “Cove” – A small island in the Indian Ocean that offers no escape.
- “Detour” – A battle both atop and below a suspension bridge.
- “Rush” – A paintball arena with a lot of different configurations.
- “Uplink” – A reimagined version of Black Ops favorite “Summit.”
- “Buried” – A Zombies Mode adventure set in a “lost town in the old West.”
And if you’re a visual person, there’s a Vengeance trailer embedded above.

Look! Up in the sky! WB gives Scribblenauts Unmasked a September 24 release date
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and 5th Cell have announced that Scribblenauts Unmasked, their Scribblenauts/DC Comics crossover, will be released for the 3DS, PC, and Wii U on September 24.
To celebrate, the two companies have released this cool poster showcasing the 14 variations of Superman available in the game. “Classic Superman” is well-represented, with a different flavors to choose from. But Unmasked will also include Supermen from the Red Son and Batman Beyond universes as well as Superman dressed up like Batman (AKA Speeding Bullets Superman).
All told, the game will features thousands of DC Comics characters, including a version of Doomsday dressed up like Superman!

The narrator of Beatbuddy’s first gameplay trailer is awesome
Threaks has released the first gameplay trailer for their puzzle platformer, Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians. Pay close attention to the narrator as he describes all the “beautiful hand-painted levels, clever puzzles, head-bobbing music, and engrossing gameplay” that you see on the screen. He’s a hoot.
Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians will be available to download from Steam (for the PC, Mac, and Linux) on August 6.
