The Call of Duty: Black Ops II reveal trailer is here
Activision has officially released the Call of Duty: Black Ops II reveal trailer and it’s everything we hoped it would be. Los Angeles is burning and Sergeant Frank Woods is back in this “near future black operations” campaign against an enemy that “stole the keys” of some of the future’s greatest weapons including walking tanks, high tech helicopters and those quadrotor drones teased last week.
Those sound like fun and all, but Black Ops II will also feature horseback riding in a first person view. Hoo-yeah!
As expected, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is being developed by Treyarch and will be released on November 13, 2012. Start preparing now.

Details on the first Skyrim expansion, Dawnguard, coming at E3
Bethesda has announced that the first downloadable expansion to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be titled “Dawnguard.” Per an agreement with Microsoft, the expansion will be exclusively available on the Xbox Live Marketplace at first, before coming to the PS3 and PC.
Want to know more? Well, not today. Bethesda says we’ll have to wait until the E3 Expo in June for more details on “Dawnguard.”
Rockstar announces multiplayer DLC plans for Max Payne 3
Today, Rockstar announced a bunch of multiplayer DLC for Max Payne 3 that will be made available in the coming months, and a “Rockstar Pass” that can be preordered now through Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network.
The first available DLC will be the The Local Justice Map Pack, which is coming in June, and will include the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer modes. It will also have two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more.
Packs that will be available this summer, but whose dates have yet to be announced, are the Disorganized Crime Map Pack, Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack, Hostage Negotiation Map Pack, and the New York Minute Co-Op Pack.
The Painful Memories Map Pack and Trickle Down Economics Map Pack will be available in the Fall.
The Rockstar Pass will set you back 2400 Microsoft Points or $29.99 on the PlayStation Network or PC, and will get you access to all available content at a 35% discount compared to buying the packs separately.
For more information on all the DLC options, check out Rockstar’s DLC page on the Max Payne 3 official site.

Activision confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops II a bit early

Activision’s UK arm flipped the switch on the official Call of Duty: Black Ops II site a might early, confirming the game’s existence a few hours ahead of its “NBA Playoffs on TNT” reveal. Of course, the site has reverted back to the countdown page for now.
The site also confirmed that the announcement will come with a huge “reveal trailer,” and sets that rumored November 13, 2012 release date in stone. Finally, some teaser text laid out the specific world-in-peril scenario for Black Ops II:
Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.

Rockstar reveals cover for first issue of Max Payne 3 comic
Max Payne is drunk and he just shot somebody and left them to die in the street. Welcome back to Max’s world and welcome to the cover of “Max Payne 3: After the Fall,” a three-issue limited series comic created by Marvel and Rockstar Games.
Issue #1 of “After the Fall” is written by Rockstar’s Dan Houser (he also wrote the story for the game) and Remedy’s Sam Lake. The cover art was created by Greg Horn with pencils and inks by Fernando Blanco. The series will “[feature] characters from all three Max Payne games as the series weaves together events from various points in Max’s life.”
“After the Fall” will be available as a free digital download through the Rockstar Newswire and on the Max Payne 3 official site this Thursday, May 3. A “limited run” of print copies will be also available later in the month.
Max Payne 3 will be released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on May 15.
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed announced
After originally being revealed at the New York Toy Fair earlier this year, Sega is ready to officially announce Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed. The kart racing sequel is once again in development at Sumo Digital and is planned for a late 2012 release on the 3DS, PC, PS3, Vita, and Xbox 360.
Sega is planning to make Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed an all-terrain affair with karts that transform into boats on the water and planes in the air. Why yes, it does sound a bit reminiscent of Mario Kart 7. But what’s new is the game’s unique “fair weapon system.” As they race, players will gain skills for their chosen racer, including the ability to “[block or evade] weapons fired at your vehicle.” Awesome!
Also new is a pair of debuting racers, Gilius Thunderhead of Golden Axe and Vyse of Skies of Arcadia. Both were up for inclusion in the first game, but for some reason, were left on the cutting room floor.
I’ll be very surprised if the “fair weapon system” doesn’t end up in the next Mario Kart game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II pre-order cards spotted in the wild
First, there was a hidden message written in morse code embedded within a splash page at CallofDuty.com. Now, an IGN reader has stumbled across Target pre-order cards that seemingly confirm the next Call of Duty game will be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
I suppose it’s possible the image to your left is a fake, but the fact that the cards are still in shrinkwrap would make a Photoshop job extremely unlikely. So consider it even more confirmed, the next CoD game will be Call of Duty: Black Ops II and it’ll be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (and surely the PC as well) on November 13.
But if you’re waiting for the official reveal, that’s still set for May 1 during TNT’s coverage of the NBA Playoffs.
