Deus Ex: Human Revolution “Missing Link” expansion coming in October
Square Enix has announced the first expansion to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, “The Missing Link,” will be available in October. Well, it’s more of a sidestory than an expansion as “Missing Link” takes place during the events of Human Revolution:
After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected. As Adam, befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution!
Square Enix promises that players will be able to experience “new layers of conspiracy, sprawling new environments and brand-new characters” as they rebuild Adam’s augmentation set.
For a taste of “The Missing Link,” check out the teaser trailer above.

Max Payne 3 slow-mo dives towards a March 2012 release
After several delays, Rockstar Games has finally announced a date for the return of everyone’s favorite bullet-time dodging, inner monologue-abusing hero. Max Payne 3 is officially due out in March 2012 in North America and Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. How serious are they this time? Check out the game’s boxart on your left.
The game is set after the events of Max Payne 2, following Max as he tries to start a new life in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The story will follow Payne as he provides private security for a wealthy industrialist in this new locale. Eventually, he faces off with the local gangs when they target his client’s family.
Max Payne 3 aims to change what we know and love about the Max Payne series by giving us new physics, a new game engine, realistic weaponry, a cover system, and even better bullet-time mechanics. Rockstar will also include a multiplayer mode for the first time in the series history. I’m curious to see if bullet-time actions will be present in the multiplayer and how many pills will be a-poppin’ for health regeneration.
Do you still not believe? Then hit the jump for two new screenshots as well. (more…)

Daily Scoop: September 8, 2011 – Rain, rain, rain
It’s yet another rainy day here in Philadelphia, and I’m drooling on my copy of Resistance 3 that I finally picked up. What better way to spend a rainy day than by killing chimera? I may even wear the necklace I got for pre-ordering it at GameStop. Hellz yeah!
Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games today is Bejeweled Twist by PopCap Games. This Nintendo DS game is on sale for $12.99, and boasts five game modes – “Classic, Blitz, Challenge, Zen and the new 2-player, ad-hoc wireless.” If our editor John Scalzo doesn’t already own this, I’m sure he’s going to buy it today!
No gaming shirts today, but “Bluth Man Group” at Tee Fury is hilarious: (more…)

Batman: Arkham City soundtrack rocks with Panic! at the Disco, Coheed & Cambria, more
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and WaterTower Music have announced that Batman: Arkham City – The Album will be available on October 4, two weeks ahead of the game’s October 18 release date on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The album will also be available digitally as a bonus download inlcuded with the Arkham City Collector’s Edition.
Featuring music “inspired by” the highly anticipated sequel, Batman: Arkham City – The Album will include new songs from Panic! At The Disco, Coheed and Cambria, Daughtry, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Serj Tankian and more.
Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez is very excited to bring his musical storytelling to Gotham City. “I write in a very conceptual format with the stories that surround Coheed and Cambria, but Batman has a much larger, defined history and rules that go along with it. My goal was to find universal themes from Batman’s existing history to help give the lyrics legs and dimension so that the song could live within that world,” Sanchez said.
The full track listing can be found after the break. (more…)
Real Steel game is rock ’em, sock ’em real
Osaka-based video game developer Yuke’s is best known for the annual release of their WWE Wrestling games and the recent UFC Undisputed titles. They’re also currently working on a game based on the upcoming Hugh Jackman movie, Real Steel. Having made a number of games with human meatbag fighters, a robot brawlfest should be a nice change.
Real Steel is set to be released as a downloadable title in early October for 1200 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Arcade and $15 on the PlayStation Network. So be prepared to rock and sock some robots. Forgive me for the terrible joke, robo-enthusiasts.

Want this cool Uncharted 3 controller? Hope you live in Japan!
Poor PlayStation 3 owners. They’re always getting the short end of the stick when it comes to cool controllers and add-ons for the system. Our DualShocks came in black only until very recently, and we never have anything cooler than pink (no, seriously – the pink one is the best. Trust me.).
But check out this awesome Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception controller. Can’t you just feel it now, rumbling in your hands as Drake dives to get out of the way of an enemy’s grenade? Well, you could, if you lived in Japan. The controller won’t be available here in the US, according to G4.
What a bummer. I’d absolutely add in some extra money to the already ridiculously overpriced collector’s edition just to get that controller. I guess my wallet says thank you, Naughty Dog.

ESRB pulls a great trick by outing Devil May Cry trilogy for PS3, Xbox 360

Are you in tears over Capcom’s steadfast refusal to admit a Devil May Cry HD Collection exists? Well quit yer crying because new ratings on the ESRB website have revealed that Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in the near future. Because each game is listed individually, Capcom is likely planning to release each HD remake separately like the upcoming Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica remakes.
But we can’t say anything for sure until Capcom officially announces the Devil May Cry remakes for the PS3 and Xbox 360. I mean, what are they waiting for? Satan got their tongue?

BloodRayne: Betrayal added to PlayStation Store
Sony’s PSN Play promotion continues with the addition of BloodRayne: Betrayal to the PlayStation Store. Everyone’s second favorite half-vampire (OK, dhampir), Rayne, returns in a 2D side-scrolling adventure that stirs up some awfully strong memories of Castlevania. It’s available to download for $14.99.
Joining BloodRayne on the new release list is Rugby World Cup 2011 ($49.99), a sports sim centered on the Rugby World Cup; and Skydrift ($14.99), which promises to “get [you] closer than ever before to the world of adrenaline pumping sky-racing.” Also available this week is a PSone Import version of Mega Man 4.
These new releases are pretty neat, but the real winners this week are PSN Plus subscribers, who will be able to download Plants vs. Zombies, Astro Tripper, Altered Beast and the PSone Classic Jet Moto for free.
Head over to the PlayStation.Blog for a complete look at all of this week’s new releases and game add-ons.
