RE Revelations, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Ratchet: Deadlocked, more added to PS Store

After we spent the day oohing and aahing over Microsoft’s new Xbox One console, Sony did the same thing they do every Tuesday: updated the PlayStation Store.
This week’s offerings include the high definition re-release of Resident Evil Revelations, NIS America’s Mugen Souls, the illegal street racing of Fast & Furious: Showdown, and the old west shootouts of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.
Vita owners will be able to finally play Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (it’s available as a PSN Cross-Buy title too) or they can embrace their inner men’s room attendant with Men’s Room Mayhem.
And speaking of Ratchet, Ratchet: Deadlocked is now available on the PSN. No Vita version though.
More information on this week’s releases can be found after the break and the full list of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Injustice: Gods Among Us is the best-selling game of April 2013
According to The NPD Group’s accounting of the best-selling games from April 2013, NetherRealm Studios’ Injustice: Gods Among Us delivered a superhero-sized punch to the competition last month. The Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U fighter zoomed into the top spot, ahead of another April release, Deep Silver’s Dead Island: Riptide. Other new releases were mostly shut out of the top ten, but Defiance, an MMO shooter based on the Syfy show of the same name, managed to make it to the fifth spot.
Bioshock Infinite continues to sell strong, rounding out the top three, and a pair of 3DS-exclusive games scared up spots in the top ten: Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (#6) and Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins (#9).
The full top ten list for April 2013 can be found right here:
1. Injustice: Gods Among Us (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U)
2. Dead Island: Riptide (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
3. Bioshock Infinite (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
4. Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U)
5. Defiance (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
6. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS)
7. NBA 2K13 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, PSP, PC)
8. Skylanders Giants (Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS, Wii U)
9. Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins (3DS)
10. MLB 13: The Show (PS3, Vita)
Metro: Last Light, Dust 514, Star Wars Pinball, more added to PS Store
Sony has made up for last week’s paltry PlayStation Store update with a treasure trove of new titles in this yesterday’s update.
Leading the way is Deep Silver’s post-apocalyptic FPS, Metro: Last Light. Also now available is the “final release” of Dust 514. The Eve Online spinoff has been in open beta since January, but now CCP Games is ready to call the game “finished” (or as finished as an ever-evolving MMO can be). If you’d prefer a little more pinball in your sci-fi, this week also sees the standalone release of Star Wars Pinball on the PS3 and the Vita.
Let’s see, what else… Another Rockstar title has been added to the PS2 Classics collection, Manhunt, their “most dangerous game.”
You can find more new releases (and more information about the games listed above) after the break and a complete list of this week’s new game add-ons at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Poker Night 2, Katamari Damacy, more added to PS Store

The over-the-top cliches, pulsing neon, and sheer lunacy that make up Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon are now available on the PlayStation Store. Ubisoft’s masterpiece is joined by Telltale’s poker room crossover, Poker Night 2; Keiji Inafune’s first post-Capcom game, Soul Sacrifice; and one of the greatest PS2 Classics of all time, Katamari Damacy.
A pair of special editions are also available on the PlayStation Store this week including “The Director’s Cut” of the divisive Deadly Premonition and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the PS3-exclusive special edition of Ninja Gaiden II.
Finally this week, the PlayStation Store will see the release of Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov’s Revenge, a PS3/Vita Cross-Buy title and the final “Spring Fever” game, and T.A.C. Heroes, a PSP shooter.
More details on all of these games can be found after the break and a rundown of this week’s new game add-ons is available at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Walmart: Receive an ultra exclusive Iron Patriot mini-fig when the game releases.
GameStop: Receive a Spider-Man keychain when you pre-order any version of Lego Marvel Super Heroes (available when the game releases). Lego Marvel Super Heroes will be available for the 3DS, DS, PC, PS3, Vita, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 this Fall.
New Releases: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Soul Sacrifice, Deadly Premonition, More

The absolutely epic ridiculous epic Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is available this week as a PC download. And it’ll also be available to download from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Don’t worry, Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt, we’ll save the world together! 80s montage… go!
Also available this week is Keiji Inafune’s action RPR for the Vita, Soul Sacrifice. Inafune is the celebrated creator of Mega Man, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, and many other games. Following his post-Capcom career has become a bit of a challenge (he’s connected to a ton of different games), but Soul Sacrifice seems like a good place to start.
It’s been three years, but there’s still no consensus on whether 2010’s Deadly Premonition is the work of a mad genius or someone who’s just mad. But Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro didn’t let that stop him and he’s bringing Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut to the PS3 this week.
Finally, turn-based strategy game Leviathan: Warships is available this week from Paradox Interactive.

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Review: Killing Bugs Was Never So Fun

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is a Vita port of Earth Defense Force 2017, an Xbox 360 game of almost the same name which came out on the Xbox 360 back in 2007. As a member of the elite Earth Defense Force, developed to protect the planet against hostile aliens, you are the first to fight against the crazy insectoid aliens that invade Earth. With overpowered guns, destructible environments, and hilariously terrible voice acting, the game ends up being just about perfect for the portable environment. But if you’re looking for anything groundbreaking, you’re sure to be disappointed. (more…)

Thomas Was Alone, Dead Island: Riptide, Star Trek, more added to PS Store

Another big day for the PlayStation Store as indie platformer Thomas Was Alone, zombie melee-er Dead Island: Riptide, and movie tie-in Star Trek are now available to purchase with your download dollars. Like the rest of the games in Sony’s Spring Fever promotion, Thomas Was Alone is a Cross-Buy title, meaning you’ll be able to pick up the PSN and Vita versions in the same download.
Also available this week is Ubisoft’s World War II dogfighter, Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII; the latest game in the Soul Calibur series, Soul Calibur V; Capcom’s standalone Dragon’s Dogma expansion, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen; and the retro shooter God Mode.
Finally this week, Sony has added a pair of Vita games, the ninja-riffic Draw Slasher and the ridiculously titled Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R… I mean, seriously now… there are four extra modifiers in that title. Even Capcom won’t go that far.
Hit the jump for more details on all of these games and a few others (including a new PSP game!). And be sure to visit the PlayStation Blog for a complete list of this week’s new game add-ons. (more…)
