CoD: Ghosts Multiplayer Reveal: Collector’s Editions and Season Pass announced
Activision just dropped a ton of Call of Duty: Ghosts news onto the Internet. Are you ready to talk about limited edition goodies? I hope so…
The Call of Duty franchise pioneered the concept of the “premium” special edition and Call of Duty: Ghosts will be no different. As with previous releases in the series, Activision plans to offer two special editions for Ghosts. There’s the $119.99 Hardened Edition and the $199.99 Prestige Edition.
The Hardened Edition will include a copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts, the DLC Season Pass, limited edition Collectible Steelbook packaging, and a Paracord Strap. But the Prestige Edition is where it’s at. It will include everything from the Hardened Edition plus a Tactical Camera, a “full HD 1080p, water resistant, wide-angle mounted, wearable camera based on the actual helmet camera featured in the game itself.”
Speaking of the Season Pass, it is also available as a standalone purchase for $49.99 and will include free access to four DLC Map Packs beginning in 2014. The Season Pass also include access to the Ghosts Team Leader Pack, which features a “multiplayer character modeled from one of the characters from Ghosts’ single player campaign.” And for a limited time, if you purchase the Season Pass for the PS3 or Xbox 360, it will magically upgrade to a PS4 or Xbox One Season Pass at no additional cost.
Both special editions and the Season Pass are now available for pre-order.
CoD: Ghosts Multiplayer Reveal: First trailer includes Eminem’s “Survival”
Activision just dropped a ton of Call of Duty: Ghosts news onto the Internet. So let’s take it one step at a time.
First up is the first trailer for the game’s multiplayer mode. The trailer features plenty of footage from Call of Duty’s multiplayer mode as well a brand new Eminem song, “Survival.” More importantly, it’s our first look at some of the Create-A-Soldier options (now you can play as a woman), dynamic map events (that bus got blown up real good), and some of the new weaponry.
In addition to its inclusion in the trailer above and Call of Duty: Ghosts, Eminem’s “Survival” will be included on his upcoming eighth album. The title, first single, and release date of the album will be announced soon.
“Hacking Is Your Weapon” in this new Watch Dogs gameplay video
Ever since it was announced at E3 2012, Ubisoft has been touting the “hack anything” gameplay mechanic found in Watch Dogs. A newly released gameplay trailer, “Hacking Is Your Weapon,” finally gives us a better look at how exactly it’ll work.
Watch Dogs will be available for the PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 on November 19. PS4 and Xbox One editions will also be released before the end of the year.
Unlock 8-bit soundtrack in DuckTales: Remastered without beating the game
Yesterday I finally got my hands on DuckTales Remastered, and I must say two things: one, the game is great, and two, I accidentally discovered a way to unlock the original, 8-bit soundtrack without first beating the game.
When I first saw the Capcom logo and heard the classic Capcom tune, my instincts kicked in. There was a code for Street Fighter II on the SNES, where you enter Down, R, Up, L, Y, B at the Capcom logo to unlock different colors for your fighters. When I heard that familiar sound, like some sort of Pavlovonian experiment, I entered the same code, and to my surprise, heard a chime. Bear in mind, this was on the PS3, so the code was Down, R1, Up, L1, Square, X.
The code unlocked the original soundtrack right from the beginning. So, if you don’t want to hear the remastered soundtrack (and shame on you if you don’t), then you can start the game off with the classic tunes you know and love.
Enjoy!

New Releases: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Payday 2, DuckTales Remastered, More

The brothers Mario are venturing back into the RPG world with today’s release of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team for the 3DS.
Tuesday will see the release of a few titles on the complete opposite end of the gaming spectrum including the multiplayer heistfest Payday 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) and the latest strategy game in the Europa Universalis series, Europa Universalis IV (PC).
The rest of this week’s new releases all star anthropomorphized animals…
- There’s the PC version of WayForward’s DuckTales Remastered. Downloadable console versions will also be available this week and special retail editions will be available next week.
- There’s the Wii and Wii U port of Angry Birds Trilogy.
- And there’s Phineas and Ferb: Quest For Cool Stuff, which will be available for the 3DS, DS, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360.
I guess, technically, Phineas and Ferb aren’t animals. But they sure are weird looking.

Interview: Dakko Dakko’s Dan Croucher Discusses Scram Kitty and His Buddy On Rails

Hidden amongst the big games announced during Nintendo’s E3 2013 Nintendo Direct video presentation were some gorgeous looking indie titles. One that really shone bright during its brief showing was Scram Kitty and His Buddy On Rails, a top-down, on-rails (but not in that way) shooter/platformer hybrid. It is currently being developed by Welsh studio Dakko Dakko, best known for their previous PSN Mini hit Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims. Scram Kitty’s Producer, Dan Croucher, was kind enough to answer some questions about tax breaks, octopus hats, and favourite gaming titles. (more…)

NetherRealm pulls Zatanna out of a hat as the next Injustice DLC character
NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon promised that we’d get a first look at the next downloadable character for Injustice: Gods Among Us and he has delivered. It’s everyone’s favorite DC Comics magician… Zatanna!
You didn’t think I meant John Constantine, did you?
You can check out Zatanna in action against Solomon Grundy in the trailer above. Like the previous DLC characters, she will be available to download soon (actually, on August 13) through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii U eShop for $5 (or 400 Microsoft Points).
