Activision is bringing CoD: Ghosts, Destiny, Skylanders Swap Force to E3 2013

Activision has unveiled their E3 2013 lineup and, unlike past years, it is not an unwieldy behemoth that seems to go forever. The biggest third-party publisher is going laser-focused for this year’s expo and focusing on three titles: Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts, Bungie’s Destiny, and the third game in their mega-popular Skylanders series, Skylanders Swap Force.
And speaking of Skylanders Swap Force, Activision also confirmed that the game will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One (because, of course it is) and that the 3DS, PS3, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 versions will be available on October 13.
More details on all three of these titles can be found after the break. (more…)
Capcom has a “big surprise” planned for E3 2013

Capcom has announced that they’re bringing four games to this year’s E3 Expo, which begins this Tuesday, June 11. The company has also promised that they have a “big surprise” to share with fans.
Here’s Capcom’s E3 2013 lineup (sans the big surprise):
- DuckTales: Remastered (PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)
- Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara (PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)
- Lost Planet 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies (3DS)
What do you think Capcom’s “big surprise” will be?
Nintendo Download: Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Yoshi, more

Welcome to this week’s Nintendo Download, which includes two new titles to download today and two more later this week.
Available today on the Wii U eShop is Spelunker, a Virtual Console console game originally released for the NES. The Wii Virtual Console has also been updated today with Sengoku 3, a side-scrolling brawler originally available for the NeoGeo.
The biggest game in this week’s Nintendo Download will be available in three days as 3DS owners will be able to download Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Sunday, June 9. Three days after that, on June 12, Yoshi, a puzzle game originally released for the NES, will be added to the Wii U eShop.
More information on all of these titles can found after the break. (more…)

Precursor plans to suspend Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaign

Precursor Games’ crowdfunding campaign for Shadow of the Eternals hasn’t been going well. With 13 days to go, the developer’s Kickstarter campaign has only raised $127,962 in pledges, which is less than 10% of their $1,350,000 goal (an additional $157,345 has been raised through a PayPal campaign).
But perhaps all is not lost.
In an update on the Precursor Games website, CEO Paul Caporicci has announced that the Kickstarter campaign will be suspended on Thursday, June 6 because of “a host of new exciting opportunities” that have become available.
Caporicci wouldn’t go into specifics, but he did say that we’ll all learn about it soon, when the Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter campaign is relaunched in a few weeks. All current donations that came in through the Kickstarter campaign and via PayPal will be refunded.
So has a big-name publisher agreed to fund Shadow of the Eternals? Because it certainly sounds like that’s the case.

Injustice to Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion: “Get over here!”
Crossovers are a comic book creator’s best friend. So when it was rumored that Scorpion would be coming to Injustice: Gods Among Us as a DLC character, everyone just assumed it was the real deal. This morning, NetherRealm Studios officially announced that Scorpion (redesigned by DC Entertainment’s Jim Lee) will soon be joining the fight.
Scorpion’s brand new redesign looks fantastic, but his Injustice moveset looks very similar to the attacks he used in the Mortal Kombat reboot. Like the other DLC characters before him, Scorpion has been priced at $5/400 Microsoft Points on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace.
Finally, after Scorpion sends Blackest Night Superman to Hell, the trailer ends with a stinger hinting at the fourth DLC character: Martian Manhunter.

Nintendo Download: Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Mega Man X, more
This week’s Nintendo Download proves that it’s a good day to be a retro game fan.
Today, Nintendo has added The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons to the 3DS eShop. To ensure that you buy them both, Nintendo has even discounted the games to $4.99 each through June 20.
Two more classic games from Capcom were added to the Wii U eShop today. Mega Man X (originally released for the Super NES) and Ghosts ‘n Goblins (originally released for the NES) are now available to download and if you buy one, you can get the other for 50% off now through June 6.
Also available this week are two original 3DS games: quirky RPG The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves and animal sports sim Gummy Bears Mini Golf.
More information on all of these titles can be found after the break. (more…)

Here’s a list of Best Buy stores that will host E3 demos from Nintendo
Nintendo and Best Buy are bringing E3 2013 to the people. Or rather, to the people that live within driving distance of select Best Buy stores across the US and Canada.
Nintendo will bring some of the same Wii U demos they’re showing at this year’s E3 Expo to 110 Best Buy stores this June. The Wii U demos will be playable at select Best Buy stores on Wednesday, June 12 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, June 15 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Nintendo has yet to announce which titles will be playable at their Best Buy showcase, but the publisher has confirmed that Mario Kart Wii U, the first 3D Super Mario game for the Wii U, and Sonic: Lost World will all appear at this year’s E3 Expo.
The complete list of US Best Buy locations that will host Nintendo’s E3 demos can be found after the break. Canadian demo locations will be announced at a later date. (more…)
Ubisoft plans to announce multiple next-gen games at E3 2013

Ubisoft’s Fall 2013 lineup will be well represented at this year’s E3 Expo as the publisher plans to display five titles at the gaming showcase, as well as multiple unannounced next-generation games:
- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
- Rayman Legends
- South Park: The Stick of Truth
- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist
- Watch Dogs
Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference will take place on Monday, June 10 at 6:00 PM (Eastern Time). The company will post a livestream of the presentation on YouTube for everyone who can’t attend the E3 Expo. Updates from the show floor will also be posted on Ubisoft’s Facebook page, Twitter feed, and official blog during E3 week.
“This is a pivotal moment for the video game industry, and E3 is the opportunity for us to share our vision for the future,” said Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft’s CEO. “We have many incredible games in development, and we’re especially excited to share more on our next-gen titles, which will deliver more connected, immersive and interactive experiences to our fans.”
So, any guesses on what Ubisoft’s unannounced next-gen games will be?
