I assume you read the headline, but if not, here it is again. Activision will release a full-length trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II‘s Zombies mode on September 26. You can check out a teaser trailer for the trailer (complete with a zombie bus) above.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on November 13. A Wii U version will be released a few days later on November 18.

Midway Arcade Origins brings 30 arcade classics to PS3, Xbox 360

Warner Bros. Games has finally decided to tap into the massive Midway back catalog they acquired in 2009 with a new compilation titled Midway Arcade Origins. The collection is being developed by Backbone Entertainment (but then, aren’t they all?) for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and will be released in November with a retail price of $29.99.

Midway Arcade Origins will include 30 games from the company’s heyday including Gauntlet, Rampage, Joust, Spy Hunter, Defender, and Marble Madness. A similar package, titled Midway Arcade Treasures, was released for the GameCube, PS2, and Xbox in 2003. That collection included the six aforementioned games as well as Sinistar, Root Beer Tapper, Smash TV, Robotron 2084, Paperboy, and many others. Coincidentally, it was also developed by Backbone Entertainment, so I’d expect a similar set of games to be included in Midway Arcade Origins.

Each arcade title will include Achievement/Trophy support and local multiplayer options along with online leaderboards.

Do you expect me to talk? No Mr. Bond, I expect a Goldfinger mission in 007 Legends

Activision has made a few dubious film choices for 007 Legends, their decades-spanning history of the James Bond franchise. Moonraker, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and Die Another Day may have their moments, but they’re not considered the best of Bond by a long shot.

Thankfully, Activision’s final pick is the best Bond film of all-time… Goldfinger! The Fort Knox caper will include appearances from Auric Goldfinger, Oddjob, and Pussy Galore along with the crotch laser and a naked painted lady. Do you expect me to talk? Because if you do, I’ll say woohoo!

007 Legends will be available for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on October 16 with a Wii U version scheduled for release in November.

Harry Potter For Kinect Hands-On Preview: Harry Potter and the Motion-Controlled Demo

Not to be hindered by such obstacles as, oh, the entire series ending, the Harry Potter video game franchise will continue when Harry Potter For Kinect releases on October 9th. At first glance, this title may seem like just another licensed minigame rush job, with little appeal to anyone other than kids and diehard Potter fans. But much like the results of a fresh mixture of Polyjuice Potion, looks can be deceiving. (more…)

Nights, Sonic Adventure 2 coming to PSN/XBLA in first week of October

Sega has announced a release date for the next two “Sega Heritage” HD re-releases on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Both Nights Into Dreams and Sonic Adventure 2 will be available during the first week of October, with PlayStation players getting the titles slightly earlier than their Xbox brethren on Tuesday, October 2nd. The two games will be added to the XBLA release on Friday, October 5th, three days later. Both games will be available for $9.99 or £6.49 in England or €7.99 in Europe or 800 Microsoft Points on the XBLA.

The two titles will come with a heap of extras. Nights Into Dreams will come complete with the festive add-on, Christmas Nights. Sadly, Sonic Adventures 2’s Battle Mode is paid DLC (for an additional $3.00 / 240 Microsoft Points) and will feature the extra content that came with the GameCube version of the game, including Chao Karate.

Microsoft renews Killer Instinct trademark

Well this is a surprise. Microsoft has announced (via their PlayXBLA blog) that they’ve renewed the trademark to 90s fighting franchise Killer Instinct.

Killer Instinct was developed by Rare as an arcade showcase for the then-in-development Nintendo 64. A sequel followed in 1996, but the series has been rarely heard from since (Nintendo would release KI Gold in 1998). Microsoft purchased the rights to the franchise in 2002 along with their acquisition of the developer.

While PlayXBLA didn’t elaborate on what this trademark renewal means, the location of the announcement could possibly point to an Xbox Live Arcade re-release of the first two games in the series.

Daily Scoop: September 17, 2012 – Borderlands 2 tonight!

I am freaking out over how excited I am about Borderlands 2 coming out at midnight tonight. Please don’t expect me to be coherent for a few days. I’m going to be destroying everything I see in Pandora for at least the first 24 hours. I’m playing it on the PlayStation 3, which seems to be depressing some of my friends, but oh well. I’m doing this! I’m making it happen.

Interested in playing with my friends and me while we wreak havoc across the planet? Leave a comment here or tweet at us (@WarpZoned) and tell me why you think you’re worth it. The luckiest person will get an invite to my PSN friends list and can see how pathetic my trophy collection really is.

Amazon’s got a few deals today:

Sadly, this Monday brings us only two t-shirts! (more…)

Huge Rock Band DLC sale this week!

Today, Harmonix announced that they are “slashing” (it’s a Guns n’ Roses reference, people) prices of over 1,100 downloadable songs and packs in the Rock Band Store by half! Furthermore, every song is compatible with the recently-released Rock Band Blitz.

Here’s the official update schedule from the Rock Band forums:

Here is the expected timing for the roll out of discounts on different consoles in different regions. This is a HUGE update (seriously, we’re discounting more DLC than most games have ever released) so there are a lot of moving pieces and things may not go 100% to plan, but we’ll update if things look like they’re changing.

Tuesday September 18th

Xbox 360 (worldwide) will be updating in a gradual roll out, and all pricing is expected to update by noon ET.

Nintendo should be updating at the same time that Wii DLC usually goes live.

Sony America (SCEA) is expected to update at the same time that PS3 DLC usually goes live.

Wednesday September 19th

Sony Europe (SCEE / Sony International) is expected to update when PS3 DLC usually goes live.

If you check in and content is not appearing with the new pricing, sit tight and it may be updating shortly. We’ll be keeping an eye on things on our end to make sure we catch any content that slips through the cracks. Enjoy!

So get those points ready! For a list of all the songs included in the sale, click here!
