PAX East 2012: 2K offering fans a chance to play Borderlands 2, XCOM RTS, more
If you’re a Borderlands fan, and you happen to be in the Boston area next weekend, you might want to consider getting a day pass for PAX East.
2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that a co-op Borderlands 2 demo will be playable at their booth on the show floor. The demo will feature the “Caustic Caverns” map, and you can play as either the brand spankin’ new Gunzerker class or the new and improved Siren.
If that’s not enough Borderlands action for you, you can also check out Gearbox Software’s panel on Sunday, April 8th, where they will be talking about Borderlands 2 and all the other games they are currently working on.
Borderlands publisher 2K Games has plenty more planned for PAX 2012. Hit the jump for more details. (more…)

60 players faceoff in NHL 13 cover vote
It worked for one sport, so why not another?
EA Sports has caught cover vote fever and the only cure is another tournament… this time to determine the cover athlete of NHL 13. Like the Madden NFL 13 vote, two players from each team (for a total of 60) will compete in a play-in round. Because of the odd number of teams in each conference, EA will choose two losing players to advance as wild cards.
Voting for the play-in round begins today at covervote.NHL.com and continues through April 11 (coincidentally, the first day of the NHL playoffs). After the completion of the tournament, the NHL 13 cover athlete will be revealed at the 2012 NHL Awards on June 20. The game itself will follow with a PS3 and Xbox 360 release in September.
Since there’s no cover curse to go along with the NHL 13 cover, I’d assume players want to win this tournament. And just who’ll be competing? Hit the jump for the play-in round matchups. (more…)
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron rolls out on August 28
Gamers won’t have to wait until the Fall for the High Moon-developed Transformers: Fall of Cybertron to roll into stores. The GameSpot-exclusive trailer above is more than meets the eye as it confirms an August 28 release date (which is still the Summer) for the PS3 and Xbox 360 game.
I think this good news deserves some music. Sing it with me… “You’ve got the touch! You’ve got the powahhhhhhhhhhh!”

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Review: Turn Back Time To Get Your 40 Hours Back

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a game that has no idea what it’s doing or where it’s going. It’s full of time traveling, paradoxes, role-playing, platforming, and more than a few puzzles to solve. It’s full of changes and alterations, but at the core, it’s very much a sequel – and it shows. It feels like the game is experiencing growing pains, with short bursts of interesting moments infused with utter dullness. Should you take the plunge and go back to Pulse? Or would your money and time be better spent waiting for Operation Rainfall games to hit our shores? (more…)

Ridge Racer Unbounded is in stores now
It looks like when Namco Bandai said Ridge Racer Unbounded would be out “later in 2012,” they actually meant “in three weeks.”
“We are excited to have racing fans unleash their destructive prowess against friends and foes online in Ridge Racer Unbounded,” said Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America Inc. “With a greater focus on demolition and high octane destruction, Ridge Racer Unbounded takes the franchise to new heights in racing mayhem.”
The latest addition to the street racing franchise is now available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America (I guess we don’t get the PC version) and you can check out the launch trailer above.

Tebow eliminated after first round of Madden NFL 13 cover voting
It looks Tim Tebow was no match for the Arian Nation. The freshly traded backup quarterback for the New York Jets was soundly defeated in the first round of the Madden NFL 13 cover vote by Texans running back Arian Foster.
The remainder of the Round 1 voting went as expected, except for the Matt Forte vs Patrick Willis matchup. The sixth-seeded Forte was upset by the 49ers linebacker. Tough break for one of the best backs in the league.
Voting for Round 2 runs from today until April 4. So get your votes in now for these second round matchups at ESPN.com/maddenvote:
Left Bracket
Cam Newton (#1) vs Antonio Gates (#8)
LeSean McCoy (#5) vs Larry Fitzgerald (#4)
Patrick Willis (#11) vs Maurice Jones-Drew (#3)
Darrelle Revis (#7) vs Victor Cruz (#2)
Right Bracket
Aaron Rodgers (#1) vs Marshawn Lynch (#8)
Ray Rice (#5) vs Drew Brees (#4)
Calvin Johnson (#6) vs Arian Foster (#3)
Jared Allen (#7) vs Rob Gronkowski (#2)

South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge is a sick little monkey on XBLA on March 30
South Park Digital Studios has revealed that South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge will be available to download from the Xbox Live Arcade on March 30. The XBLA-exclusive platformer will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
Tenorman’s Revenge was developed by Other Ocean and sees the titular Scott Tenorman attempt to take his revenge not just on Cartman, but the entire town:
Fans can play locally or online as Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny as they travel through time and space to battle Scott Tenorman and his army of Ginger robots before they destroy South Park and, more importantly, the boys’ Microsoft Xbox 360 hard drive.
Oh, by the way, I realize the “South Park” reference in the article title comes from the first season. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the show, mmm’kay?
